| Hemlockfox Rank: T3 Medicine Cat
(OOC: Directly follow the June MC Meeting)
Hemlockfox eyed Sleepycloud uncertainly, his blue eyes dark with suspicion. It was strange to be the one guiding this she-cat onto the path of a medicine cat, but he supposed desperate times called for desperate measures. And, briefly, he wondered if it chafed at the ThunderClanner to have to ask for help from a former SkyClanner. Their clans had been at odds for moons, though he supposed they might have settled into an uneasy truce for the time being. It was strange and worrisome not to know how his birth clan was doing, actually.
The seal point tom spent much of the medicine cat meeting like this, so lost in his own thoughts that he hardly noticed when the others began to get to their paws. The other medicine cats had little news to share this meeting apparently and, blessedly, it seemed to be over already. Though, as the other medicine cats began to file into the tunnel, a new problem arose. He'd never actually overseen a ceremony before. The only one he'd even participated in was his own.
One they were alone, Hemlockfox fixed a serious look on his companion. "Sleepycloud." He began, "If this is the path you actually want to walk, understand that it won't be easy. You will face your training without a mentor, but should you need it, there are other medicine cats happy to help guide you." Hopefully, she understood that when he said other, he didn't particularly mean himself. He would, though, if it meant ensuring Thymelight didn't give away all of SkyClan's resources. WindClan was easily his second priority.
"Know that by choosing this life, you must learn the ways and the code of medicine cats and leave behind the life of a warrior. Now, if all of that nonsense seems okay, go ahead and lie down by the Moonstone." He stepped back to sit against the wall. "I'm sure you've done this before as an apprentice and it'll much the same as that. StarClan will speak with you and should they approve, you will be ThunderClan's new medicine cat. Any questions?" If so, now was certainly the time to ask.

| It didn't take StarClan leaning down from the stars and whispering in her ear for Sleepycloud to know that Hemlockfox was not pleased with being the one to introduce her as an apprentice. His gaze burned her pelt, and his choice of words indicated he would rather not be bothered by any of Sleepycloud's potential questions. Her ears flicked in acknowledgment of what was between the lines, and she didn't press further. Her animosity with SkyClan vanished when she met Wolfstar and learned about the odd...friendship (as Hopepaw called it) between Hopepaw and the leader. But it wasn't to say other cats didn't have that feeling. It was better for her right now not to address it. Time and place, and all that.
"I understand." Sleepycloud nodded politely. Then, a moment later, she managed a small laugh. "See you later."
Their nose touched the glowing stone; sleep came quickly to her. As it usually did. But this time, a strange pull that she had only felt once before while visiting with Perchstar as an apprentice many moons ago. As her eyes opened to the starry landscape, a form sat before her. One that she almost didn't recognize. "M-mother?" ______________________________________ ✲Sleepycloud✲ || ✲Hopepaw✲ || ✲Lakekit✲ |

| There were some forces in their realm that went even beyond the might of StarClan. One of which, and perhaps the most pivotal, was the force that pulled a mother to her child. As the stars had called to her that her daughter was coming to the moonstone, there was no doubt in her mind that she was going to be the one to thrust herself forward to get to greet her. And she had done so, watching with anticipation from above as the to-be apprentice had journeyed to the moonstone.
As soon as she found herself in the starry landscape, the pale tabby couldn't help the grin of absolute pride that was on her face. There was no holding the mother back from her kit as she practically bound forward, her head immediately placing itself atop Sleepycloud's. "My baby," She immediately purred. "I'm so happy to see you... and I'm so proud of you." Words full of emotion that had taken so, so long to be able to be spoken. It was the largest downside of not walking amongst the living. She couldn't speak to her children--not the ones that walked the forest still, at least.
"You know, you take after me in a lot of ways. Leaving your home clan for that of love, and following your heart." Mapleleaf chuckled. It almost seemed as if she wanted to speak quickly, so as for the stars to not silence her preemptively. "But that isn't why we're here to chat... even if we'll take all the time we can after." She vowed. Sitting back on her haunches for just a moment, Mapleleaf tilted her head, even as her paws lifted in endless energy. "Sleepycloud, the stars have chosen you as their next speaker. Though you will train under the forest's medicine cats, you will be tasked to learn the words of your ancestors, and healing your clanmates even with wounds beyond those of the physical flesh. Is this a path you wish to walk?" ______________________________________ |
