Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times.
Littlepaw was hopelessly ill, but somehow she hated feeling useless more than she hated the symptoms that she felt. Although she wasn't the only cat in ThunderClan to catch such a dangerous and mysterious sickness, it was still easy to feel isolated when she was in such a state. She was supposed to be out and about. She was supposed to be hunting, training, exploring, and helping the Clan out in any way that she could, but instead she was confined to the new camp. It had seemed like ages. She would fall asleep feeling horrible, and she would wake up feeling the same way. When would StarClan ever have mercy on her and miraculously cure her?
She still wanted sunlight. She could've kept to her nest for the majority of the day, but she found that laying outside helped her feel the slightest bit happier. The weather was cold and the wind was even colder, but the slight warmth of the sun managed to do her some good. It was another morning, another day that she would have to carry herself around, sick and helpless, and yet she still dragged herself toward the first patch of sunlight that she saw. On the way there, she felt a tickle in her throat grow into a violent itch, and she suddenly broke out into yet another coughing fit. How embarrassing. She lowered her head quickly once she was done before looking up at the cat closest to her and frowning. "Don't look at me like that! I wasn't coughing... I was..." She trailed off, beginning to cough and wheeze once again.
