Subject: January 2024 Gathering [Skyclan Camp] Tue 2 Jan 2024 - 14:50
Frigid wind wafted down from the mountains, sending a freezing chill amongst the lake and the territories that the clans had made their temporary home. Although frigid, and the ice encasing most streams, the winter was decidedly a bit milder than the forest back home. Those who could not make it to the main gathering came together, sharing stories and companies for the night.

Graywind curled in her nest, shivering as the cold wind cut through her fur. She had been feeling better the past few days with Smokepetal's herbs, but the warrior still found that she was weak and tired often, and the coughing fits she still experienced were no less frustrating. A full moon rose in the darkening sky, and while some of Skyclan's warriors had gone to the gathering - why they would have a gathering with so many cats ill was beyond Graywind's comprehension - she was... Not exactly content to stay in camp, but she did recognize it as being the better of the two options.
Carefully, Graywind stretched and sat up, fur fluffing up against the cold night air. She had been sleeping for most of the day... And unfortunately that now meant being awake at night. She would be glad to shake this illness off for good and return to being normal. The entire time they'd been at this new territory she had been nestbound, and Graywind personally thought it was a load of foxdung.
---
Stoneheart noticed Graywind stir in a nest near her own, though she stayed curled up for the moment, her own fur fluffed up against the cold. The full moon had pulled cats away to a gathering... And Stoneheart was more than happy to stay behind in camp, sick or not. Skyclan's healthy (not in the head, Stoneheart thought) warriors could deal with the fun of that without her.

Creamsky had no plans to move from their nest - they didn't really have plans of anything. Such had been their state since Astershine had been reported missing, whatever energy the warrior had to fight their illness had disappeared with his old mentor and had simply been withering away other than when they could inspire him to eat. It was hard to tell if he was even aware of the full moon that hung high in the sky above them like an unblinking eye - but he was awake as he simply let his gaze loosely hang on his paws.

The darkness that had closed in on him seemed endless, like he was in the Dark Forest once again. Flashbacks of history came and went, nowhere near as intense as they had been before he realized they were memories. They were easy to roll with now, no longer confusing and terrifying like they had been in the past. They just were. Falconmoon's eyes fluttered open. Despite the cold air, the tom felt hot. Still, the fact that he knew who he was, where he was and who was around him was the most coherent he'd been since he arrived at the lake territory.
He slowly sat up, careful not to make himself dizzy. He looked up at the source of the silver light, noting the full moon... and noting that most of the clan had gone. He needed water. Badly. Falconmoon glanced around to the other sick patients and his eyes landed on Graywind.
"Hi." He said softly, his voice hoarse from being sick and general lack of use. "How are you all feeling?" He asked, testing his voice again as he spread his gaze back out to everyone. His throat was dry, nagging almost, for some kind of moisture. A moss ball was by his nest, shimmering from the cold freezing the moisture that was in it.
Falconmoon bent his head down and scooped it in his mouth to greedily suck the water from it. The icy fluid felt heavenly on his parched throat. He couldn't stop himself from sucking it dry as quickly as possible. Once the moisture was gone from it, he dropped it carelessly to the floor beside his nest.
He wanted more.
Falconmoon is finally coherent and addressing everyone.

Lightningbreeze had felt slightly better after Smokepetal offered her some herbs, but she still got tired far too easily--a trait she'd already had, made worse by the sickness--and thus didn't venture off on her own. She wasn't alone in being sick, though, and in the meantime she had draped herself over her best and oldest friend: Creamsky, who had been even quieter than usual since they arrived at this temporary home.
It was her place as his best friend, then, to offer what comfort and support she could; even if she didn't really know why he was upset. The details of it didn't matter: her friend was unhappy, and she would do what she could to fix it, even if that wasn't much.
Tonight was the Gathering, something she usually delighted in attending. Even sick as she was, she would have dragged herself along, but this was her priority right now.
As Falconmoon spoke up, she waved her tail in greeting; brushing it over Creamsky's face before noticing and shifting her position just slightly. "I've been better, all things considered. How about you?"
we're only at the beginning of this one-way dream —— info.
Mistflower rarely ventured out to attend Gatherings; so spending the night with her Clanmates wasn't particularly unusual. Even the sickness that loomed over them all was familiar, now. Something to be expected.
As was Mistflower's position at her sister's side. Falconmoon's question caused her ears to twitch, turning her attention to Stoneheart. "How are you feeling?"
She had always found comfort in the familiar, but watching the cats around her suffer was quite the opposite of comforting. She wanted to do something about it, but she was no medicine cat--as much as she sometimes felt a life of handling herbs and illness would suit her more than the hunting and fighting, StarClan had never called on her.
And it was too late now to go hunting alone, for prey or moss or feathers. Maybe in the morning.
