beware the oncoming chill [open to thunderclan]

When she wasn't doing something else, like resting or sneezing or hovering awkwardly near her Clanmates and not really knowing what to say, Nightdancer was hunting. Perhaps she should have made a great effort to connect with her Clanmates in this unfamiliar situation, to bond with the sick who couldn't do what she was doing to avoid her problems, and perhaps she would.

Later.

Now, though, there was prey to catch and the promise of snowfall on the horizon. With so much of the Clan so sick, they needed to work harder if they wanted to have enough prey for leaf-bare.

She signaled silently that she was veering off to hunt on her own, and set her sights a little higher. Rabbit: traditionally, rabbits were considered WindClan prey, but they were sometimes found elsewhere in the forest. They weren't exactly her favorite--but they were large, with plenty of meat, and that would be helpful for feeding a larger Clan who mostly couldn't hunt.

Just two would be enough.

She fell into position, making her approach slowly--the WindClan way, so she heard, was to somehow outrun them; she couldn't do that. Even when she wasn't sick, Nightdancer knew her skillset, and she was ThunderClan through and through. A tracker, not a chaser.

And track her prey she did, though to no avail.

She hissed in annoyance: they were notoriously quick, skittish, and generally tricky. But she would have her rabbits if she was hunting all day.
