Let's Chill (Open to 1 or 2 characters + Icee)

Leopardfang stretched in his nest before going outside. The air was definitely getting cooler, and soon leaf-fall would arrive. They'd better enjoy the wealth of food before it was gone. The deputy stalked across the clearing, slowly and deliberately, before spotting one of his grandkits, Mousepaw, by the fresh-kill pile and giving him a stern glare that said 'Don't you dare touch that prey until you've done some work.' The young tom sulked away from the pile and into a shadowed corner. Leopardfang didn't know where that one's attitude came from. His good-for-nothing father, most likely. The deputy sat down by the entrance to organize a patrol and then fixed the apprentice with another serious look, summoning him to his side. He'd put him to work. Maybe then he'd develop some real character.

Mousepaw's ears twitched in frustration. He didn't want to go on patrol, he wanted to eat and sleep and laugh at the dumb kits. His stupid, flea-bitten denmates had been kicking him in their sleep all night and right now he just wanted to curl up and be left alone while he cooled off his temper. Instead, Leopardfang was starting up the first patrol and it looked like he was being dragged into it. The scrawny apprentice slithered through the camp and sat by the deputy's side, a grumpy look on his face. They didn't exchange words. The tense silence made him uncomfortable.

Magpiewing woke as he heard Leopardfang stir in his nest beside him. The deputy rose, stretched, and left the den without a word, letting the rest of the warriors finish their sleep. The black warrior opened an amber eye and watched as his friend left before letting out a yawn and stretching himself. After making sure he got out all of the aches and stiffness in his body, the tom rose and followed Leopardfang out into the camp clearing.

As he exited the den, he saw Mousepaw begrudgingly making his way over to Leopardfang, who had a rather stern expression. The deputy, and now apprentice sat silently, not daring to look at each other but seemingly waiting for others. A patrol, he guessed. Deciding to join, he swiftly made his way to the apprentice den and peered inside. His apprentice, Foxpaw, was sprawled out comfortably, each paw in some poor apprentice's sleeping face. The black tom let out a awkward sigh and slipped into the den before prodding the red tabby. "Patrol time. Hurry up." Without a second thought he left the den and padded up to his friend, knowing full well he might face the wrath of his unusually aggressive granddaughter.

Foxpaw groaned as a stiff paw jabbed into her side and the voice of her grandfather run through her ears. She was in the middle of a wonderful dream where she reigned over the entire forest with an iron paw. Every cat that lived and breathed revered her and praised her as their god. Foxstar the Benevolent, they chanted. They did so until Magpiewing rudely interrupted her find dream. With a small growl rising in the she-cat's throat, she opened her eyes and watched as the warrior quickly exited the den. The tabby groaned once more and shook the moss from her fur. Rising to her full height, she made her way out of the den, not bothering to watch her feet for any sleeping apprentices.

Her eyes glowed with irritation as she came up to the three toms. Her fluffy tail lashed back and forth as she took a seat and turned her green gaze to Mousepaw. "You're taking this scardy-mouse along with us?" the red apprentice spat, her eyes turning to look at Leopardfang.

(Oh boy, honestly all the ShadowClan apprentices turned out to be trash? Cooperation, Friendship, Hard-Working? Nah)

Falconpaw woke up with a jolt and gave Foxpaw a kick in her flank, hissing. Those dumb furballs had been stirring so much in their sleep, that he had barely managed to get some sleep, but now that all the movement was getting so annoying and he could hear voices too, it was clear he won't have any sleep. He got out of the den and his eyes narrowed in disgust as she sighted the two apprentices he'd have to go with: Mousepaw, the lazy kit, and Foxpaw, the dumb one. The tom hissed at the she-cat he remembered as being the one that destroyed his ceremony, but going in front like a silly mouse-brain. Next time you want to be in front, I hope it's in front of a Two-leg's monster. he thought and grinned to himself.

Great, the deputy and Magpiewing were coming over, but probably that didn't realy mean they won't fight on this patrol.

The spotted tomcat gave a quick nod to his friend, then stifled an exasperated sigh as he saw the ginger apprentice strut over to the three. Poor Magpiewing. What a nightmare she must be to deal with on a constant basis. None of the newest apprentices were pleasant to train with or even to be around, though. They probably just needed someone with a backbone to whip them into shape, and who better than himself and Magpiewing? Leopardfang looked down at Foxpaw at her remark and gave a disapproving flick of his tail. "I'm bringing you, too, so I obviously don't expect much from this group." He snapped sharply. He looked up and caught sight of Falconpaw, a displeased expression clear across the third apprentice's face. The deputy traded glances with the black warrior at his side and stood to hurry the gathering cats along. "Alright, alright. Let's quit wasting time and get on with this."

Mousepaw's lip curled at the sight of the arrogant she-cat. Everyone had seen the spectacle at her and others' apprentice ceremony, and that behavior obviously wasn't a one-time occurrence. The fur along his spine raised at the aggression in her voice, and he almost bit something back before lousy old Leopardfang cut in. And, by some wretched decree of StarClan, his bad day got a whole lot worse. The smallest apprentice bared his teeth at the approaching tom, fancying that he could take that bully any day. I'll be a better warrior than both of you combined, and then we'll see who complains about who going on patrols. You'll practically worship me! Mousepaw was visibly bristling now, and if no one saw it yet they were sure to notice any moment. But he didn't have the time to say anything he'd probably end up regretting, as the deputy stood to his heavy paws and herded the group of youngsters out of camp like a queen guiding newborns.
