While she had done her best to learn the names of all the kits in the nursery, the fact that it was practically overrunn with what felt like an explosion of kits had meant some slipped through the cracks. That didn't matter, as she'd been able to slowly learn them, one by one. Part of the plethora of new clanmates meant reinforcing other dens, such as the apprentice den- a den that would be getting a new member today. A warm purr rumbled in the tortoiseshell's throat as she made her way to the top of the ceremonial stone, surveying her clan for just a moment. This was why she lived. Why she did everything that she could.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"
The cramped quarters of the nursery made Vinekit very eager to join clan meetings, unable to hide his excitement that today might just be his turn. Already the size of a full apprentice, the sandy tom pushed through the growing crowd to sit up front. Even if it wasn't for him, he wanted to be prepared just in case.
It wasn't long before the topic of the clan meeting had arrived in the crowd. Her gaze lingered upon his young form for just a moment, and knowing clanmates would be able to spot what that look meant right away. However, she eventually allowed herself to scan over the rest of those who gathered. After all, it was a good time to see how her clanmates were doing at a glance. Everyone seemed to be doing well, and she let out a sigh of relief.
"Vinekit, step forward." Mottlestar eventually called out, breaking the pleasant conversation into silence. "You have reached the age of six moons. As rite of being born in Thunderclan, it is time to make you an apprentice. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Vinepaw. I trust Thrushnose to be your mentor, and to teach you all you shall need to know to flourish as a member of Thunderclan." Dipping her head towards her son, the tortoiseshell's tail flicked to signal she had said all she needed to. She would allow her son to greet his new apprentice, and for the clan to celebrate their clanmate's achievement.
The look the young tom was given made his amber eyes narrow as he made eye contact with their small leader - the one his father often called 'Motherstar'. Then... This was for him, then? When her gaze turned to the surrounding cats, his ears twitched. It was irritating for some reason. If it was his important day, why did she even need to spare anyone else a glance?
Irritation soon ebbed away as the words he'd been waiting for were finally spoken: he was an apprentice now! Thrushnose... He knew of this name only because the names of the kits of Mottlestar were often spoken. But... What did he look like? Amber eyes turned from the tiny ThunderClan leader to search for Thurshnose.

Thrushnose raised his head at the call of his name, ears perking from the mention of him being the one responsible for apprenticing a new, young cat amidst the crowd. While surprise initially washed over him, the tom blinked out of it, his maw curving to reveal a welcoming smile towards the newly-named 'Vinepaw'. "Hey, there. I'm Thrushnose, your mentor," He grinned, trotting up to him to press his nose against his apprentice's own, before pulling away. "Congratulations on becoming an apprentice. We'll start training tomorrow afternoon. For now, take your time to explore the apprentice's den and get some rest."

And the last of Hank's litter was apprenticed in the blink of an eye. Aurelia sat just outside the nursery, watching as Mottlestar had leapt up to the rock with a purr rumbling in the small leader's throat. Vinepaw, apprenticed to Thrushnose... The tom who stepped forward was a familiar one at least, though Aurelia still harbored wariness toward the clan cats who would be mentoring not just Hank and Sleet's kits, but eventually her own, too. She'd just have to watch and make sure they were taught properly.
