Littlekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Another day, and another kit was ready to become an apprentice. Wolfblossom had been a deputy since leafbare, but she still found that she was often just as excited as the kits themselves were to become apprentices and leave the nursery. She leaped to the tallbranch, bright blue eyes gazing down at Skyclan's camp.

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch for a clan meeting!"

Littlekit padded out of the nursery with silverwing by her side. The silver she-cat was there to make sure littlekit didn't get too excited and bolt towards the meetibg. Today was her apprentice ceremony and she was so excited that her walk had a little bounce. Littlekit sat down with her mother, a giant smile plastered on her face.

Silverwing was with Littlekit, and it wasn't long before enough clanmates had gathered to begin the ceremony. "Littlekit, please step forward," Wolfblossom waited until the kit had stepped forward, giving Silverwing a small smile. "You have reached the age of six moons, and are now old enough to become an apprentice. From this day until you earn your name, you will be known as Littlepaw. Your mentor will be Foxtrot." She nodded in the direction of the young warrior.

Littlepaw smiled as she walked up to her mentor. "Thank you for teaching me." she mewed in her most respectful voice. This cat would be her mentor and so deserved the respect from her that was needed. She would rely on foxtrot to teach her so littlepaw had to start off with a nice greeting of acknowledgment.

Silverwing guided her little wing toward the Tallbranch, pestering the young kit with tiny licks aimed to smooth down any errant patches of fur. Today was a special day for the little kit, and it would be a special memory for the warrior too. This would be the day that her first kit would become an apprentice. It filled the molly with excitement and pride, the former of which she was trying desperately not to show.

The ceremony didn't last long, which was to the she-cat's delight as she immediately began shouting Littlepaw's new name. Silverwing continued to hover around the new appentice as she greeted her new mentor, a cat that Silverwing had met before joining Skyclan. "I know you'll be a great mentor to my kit, Foxtrot." The look in the tom's eyes told her as much. Though it felt wrong to be leaving the growth of her little wing to someone else, she was confident that Foxtrot would be able to teach Littlepaw everything she would need to know. "Just don't be too hard on her, and if anything happens to her..." Silverwing didn't need to finish that thought, it should have been clear to the tom what would happen to him if he ever brought Littlepaw back to camp with more than just a scratch on her.
