Fennelbreeze

The vast canvas of flowers surrounding their territory was enough of a distraction for Fennelbreeze to get the current conflict between Windclan and the other clans outside of her mind, causing a smile to bloom on her maw as she trotted beside her clanmate, Sootstorm. The breezes were cool that day, carrying the floral scent through the air and twirling around her nostrils. It occurred as peace to her to be able to enjoy such a rare day without any interruptions, ears perking in surprise at his question.

"Hmm? The other clans?" The she-cat tilted her head, humming curiously as she pondered to herself. In all truthfulness, she hadn't gotten to know them all that well, save for the poor impression at the Gathering... So it left a bad remark on how she saw two particular clans. "Well... I never really talked to the others a lot before, so I don't know. I would like to get to know Riverclan and Skyclan more, though. Do you have any friends there from Gatherings?" She returned Sootstorm's smile with one of her own, soft green eyes blinking curiously.

"I think so, too. I met a SkyClan apprentice last time I went to the Gathering, though it's been at least a moon since I've met her. Do you think she might be a warrior like me by now?" Fennelbreeze tilted her head, chucking softly to herself. Celandinepaw was really nice, as far as she could remember—though she wouldn't blame the she-cat if they never really spoke again. After all, what Windclan has upon their reputation after the previous Gathering caused... quite the impact. She nodded, "I hope the next Gathering will be more peaceful as well."

Spotting the shadow of a mouse dart across a patch of grass, her whiskers twitched, catching a whiff of its scent. "We should get to hunting now, huh? I think I spotted something." Smiling, she nods and trots away, lowering herself into a crouch soon afterward. Her paws are careful as she creeps upon the prey, waiting for just the right moment to pounce.

However, she soon realized that what she saw wasn't prey, but in fact, a weasel. Her eyes instantly widened in recognition, fur bristling upon meeting the gaze of the brown creature. It wasn't as if she couldn't defeat it, though it was a hassle to have it around. It'd certainly scare off prey. Leaping forward, her paw clawed at it, giving it a warning blow so it can know to back off. The weasel didn't seem convinced, however, bearing its fangs at her in a hiss.

Fennelbreeze

The weasel hissed aloud when Sootstorm pinned it down by its torso, wiggling uncomfortably in distress. The creature bares its fangs out in hostility, trying to bite back at the two cats, but cannot by the disadvantage of strength. Fennelbreeze grunts, sharp teeth snapping at the weasel's neck to stop its squirming. With one last snarl, the weasel went down in a single blow, going limp under the warriors' grasps.

"Ah, well, at least this one won't be bothering the prey of our territory anymore." Fennelbreeze sighs, shaking her head as she took a step back. Seeing as to how they're the only ones remaining in the wide moors, the she-cat tried to scent the air for any left-over scents of prey, but most of them had all fled. "That's unfortunate. We might have to end our hunting short because of this, sorry." She smiled sheepishly, feeling guilty for being the reason that they'd return empty-pawed. If there were any prey left, she'd take her chance. But that this point, she doubted there'd be many at all.

Fennelbreeze shrugged, though she returned Sootstorm's bump on the shoulder with a warm purr of her own, smiling. In all honesty, it was kind of useless returning to camp empty-handed; though they could always take the weasel if they were desperate enough. Or, if they decided not to, at least they have defeated a predator in the moors threatening the prey around. That'd always allow them a couple more catches in future hunting patrols. "Yeah, I suppose not." She chuckled, nudging her cheek against the warrior's own. "Let's head back."
