| The time had come for a ceremony, and honestly, Darkspirit was glad to have something to do to take his mind off of the absolute insanity that had been going on lately. He leaped up onto the Highrock and let his voice ring out across camp. "Let all of those old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!" He did have to wonder at Thunderclan's traditional meeting call. This ceremony was for a kit after all, due to become an apprentice. Maybe he would meet with Mottlestar later on and discuss a change. | Copperkit trotted over the clearing, her eyes curiously watching Darkspirit. Some cats seemed to be look at her; could it be her apprentice ceremony? The tortioseshell quickly pushed the thought out of her mind. She was probably imagining the looks, and it's not like everything was about her. She was going to be an apprentice any day now, yet she still thinks like a kit. Copperkit curled her claws into the dirt below her as she waited for whatever Darkspirit had to say. ______________________________________ |

| Once the clan had gathered and Darkspirit's eyes landed on Copperkit, he began the meeting. "Copperkit, step forward. You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From today until the day you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Copperpaw. Curlyfluff will be your mentor. He is a loyal warrior and I trust he will teach you well."
He allowed a moment for the apprentice and mentor to get to know each other before he ended the meeting. At least Thunderclan was growing now. | Copperpaw's pelt tingled with excitement and shock when Darkspirit announced that it was her apprentice ceremony after all. However, the initial excitement began to wear off as everyone turned to look at her. Gazes burned into her pelt, and she completely missed a line of the ceremony. Was she supposed to say something? She had never been to an apprentice or warrior ceremony. Her mouth suddenly went dry at the thought that she would have to speak in front of everyone. I can't do it, please don't make me do it. She couldn't cry, she was an apprentice now, so she blinked back her tears as she waited for the ceremony to finish.
At last, it was complete. She didn't have to say anything after all. No, of course she wouldn't, who in their right mind would listen to a kit? Her legs were trembling as she trotted up to Curlyfluff. Copperpaw was glad that at least her mentor was a familiar face, even if their past interaction had been embarrassing. |

| Shrewkit was late to leave the nursery, but as she joined her gathered clanmates the young she-kit began searching for her sister. Not in the nursery, not with papa, where are you Copper? Oh! Sister spotted! Before Shrewkit could make her way over, Darkspirit began the meeting. Copper! It took all of her self-control not to yell out to her sister as their deputy spoke her name. Copper was becoming an apprentice! Stars it would be hard to remember to call her Copperpaw from now on! Well... not that she ever used her sisters full name, but she would have to now! As the meeting concluded Shrewkit bounced toward her sister, not caring if her new mentor would have anything to say about it. "Copperpaw, I can't believe it! You're an apprentice now!" From a comfy spot along the edge of the camp, Cedarkit watched the usual bustle of Thunderclan. Something seemed off though. Darkspirit looked like he was getting ready for something and some of the older warriors looked like they were expecting something exciting to happen. The kit cocked his head to the side as the deputy called a clan meeting. This should be interesting.
He observed from a distance as Darkspirit revealed the reason for the meeting. It was Copperkit's apprentice ceremony! The tom watched curiously as the ceremony took place, giving Copperkit space to celebrate with her family and new mentor. After a few minutes, he got up and approached Copperkit-er...paw, who was now talking to Shrewkit.
For a moment, Cedarkit hesitated, wondering if it was his place to butt into Copperpaw's special day. He didn't know her as well as her littermates did...but something made him think she could use another friendly face. She looked...a bit overwhelmed.
Smiling at both of the she-cats, Cedarkit ambled up beside Copperpaw, dipping his head in congratulations. "Congratulations. I'd say you're officially one step closer to becoming the future deputy of Thunderclan." He meowed softly before turning his gaze to Shrewkit, a grin on his face. "With any luck, you and I won't be too far behind Copperpaw here."

| To her horror, Shrewkit and Cedarkit immediately ran up to her. Praying that her eyes didn't look like she had been crying, Copperpaw gave them the best smile she could. They were so happy for her, she couldn't spoil the moment by crying like a kit. "Thank you both," She mewed, a smile tugging at her lips at Cedarkit's little joke. She was surprised that he had remembered.
"Hurry up you two, or I won't have anyone to sleep next to in the apprentices' den," Copperpaw teased, though her mind screamed at the thought that she would no longer be able to sleep next to her littermates and mother at night. How will I get even a wink of sleep? ______________________________________ |

| Murkyripple found herself at the edge of the ceremony, watching from the camp's entrance. It was about time, in her mind, that another cat was finally apprenticed. Curlyfluff had certainly shown a backbone and a good heart, and she approved of the mentor decision. While she was still stationed, should she have caught the new apprentice's gaze, she simply tipped her head in congratulations. Whatever smile had been on her maw was quick to vanish, but the purpose was there: it was nice to see Thunderclan growing again. ______________________________________ |

| Having let the rest of his clanmates sit in front of him, Curlyfluff's ears perked when his name was called. He remembered Copperkit from their interaction a few sunrises ago and while the she-cat hadn't said much, he knew she was a feisty one who would become a great warrior. With all that had been going on lately, such excitement of gaining an apprentice was most welcomed to the tom and he made his way over to his new apprentice from the edge of the crowd.
"I look forward to our training. You'll become a fine warrior and provider for ThunderClan, I just know it," he mewed after touching noses with the newly named Copperpaw. Stepping back, he watched with a smile as her and her siblings chatted amongst themselves. He found that such close relationships among siblings and clanmates was a vital part of keeping the clan strong and well balanced, and it brought him joy to see the younger generations be so close-knit with each other. |
