| Tawnyshadow circled the small clearing with a determinded look in her eyes. Dawnpaw was going to be a warrior soon... shock that so much time had passed since she took in the squirming ball of fur made her heart heavy. Once Dawnpaw was a warrior, Tawnyshadow would no longer have a excuse to check in on her... so no better time to do it than now, right? The warrior signed softly.
As Dawnpaw arrived, Tawnyshadow faced the apprentice. "To prepare for your warrior assesment, I will have a spar with you. While I may have the advantage of strength and size, you are faster. Keep that in mind when attacking me," With that said, she dropped into a crouch. Yellow eyes narrowed on the younger she-cat. Her ward...

| "At-attack you?" Dawnpaw nervously repeated the order. What if she accidentally injured her adoptive mother? What if-- cutting off her thoughts, Dawnpaw got into a crouch, making sure her claws were sheathed before she attacked the warrior.

| Tawnyshadow rolled away as Dawnpaw struck, and quickly turned to deal one of her own blows, but missed. She'll have to be quicker than that, she thought to herself.
