The weather had been steadily improving; and Leopardsun welcomed the departure of the ice and snow that had covered them for moons now. She had chosen to celebrate the undeniable arrival of newleaf by laying outside some time after most of ShadowClan had retired to sleep, enjoying the bright sunlight and how it warmed over her fur. The warrior's den was intact at the moment, despite how it and the rest of camp seemed cursed to be in constant need of repair, and so she didn't need to sleep out here (and in some time she would return to her nest, and to her mate)- but the weather today was nice, and she didn't want to let it go to waste.

Sunhigh meant that the black she-cat that obnoxiously watched his every move would be asleep. But Batswarm had to stifle a groan upon seeing his own mother sunbathing in the middle of camp. Normally, he would choose to avoid her in fear she would make him do extra work. But the calico rom figured she'd ask for more questions on where he was going at this time of day. Besides; It looked like his mom was lazing about today.

He padded up to the spotted deputy, carefully sweeping away debris with his long, fluffy tail, before gingerly laying down. No words were spoken as he groomed his tail that had touched the ground.

Leopardsun was surprised to see the cat who approached her: her son, Batswarm, who it seemed she had seen less and less of after he had been apprenticed and become a warrior. Despite her mixed feelings on that (of course her kits were growing older: they didn't need her as they had when they were kits, hadn't in quite some time, and she was certainly happy to see them standing on their own four paws; but she still missed it sometimes), she laughed softly as he cleared away loose dirt before lying next to her. "Couldn't sleep?"
