Wolfblossom had made good on her promise to send out patrols in search of the foxes that had attacked camp, and one patrol had found fox scent near the halfstone. The deputy had sent out two skilled warriors and an apprentice once it had been confirmed it was just one, and Stoneheart was glad to follow along with Birdstar and Sunpaw. She did worry that three cats might not be enough, but she knew Birdstar was a capable fighter, and it seemed that Wolfblossom was testing the younger two on the patrol. Either the fox would be driven off of Skyclan territory, or it would die in it, seemed to be the consensus. Stoneheart knew which she preferred.
As the patrol neared halfstone, Stoneheart's ears pricked as she gazed around. The fox had been here recently, that was clear... And it did in fact seem to be only one. Her claws unsheathed, and she kept quiet, hoping they would find the fox before it found them.

The foxes that had attacked the SkyClan camp had gone with their tails between their legs, thoroughly beaten down and lucky that they still drew breath. That last part made Sunpaw unhappy, though, so when he'd been chosen to go confront the one that had stuck around their territory, it'd been hard to hide his enthusiasm.
Now, though, out here with Birdstar and Stoneheart, Sunpaw allowed his expression to relay the determined confidence that he felt. There was no way this fox was walking out of here with its pelt intact, if he had anything to do with it.

It didn’t take long to follow the trail left behind by the foxes that attacked camp. Only one had been found, but that was fine– the others had surely already died or run off their territory. This one would follow them soon, whichever path they’d taken. Birdstar lifted her chin as the patrol came closer to the Halfstone. Glancing at her patrolmates, her focus stayed on Sunpaw in particular. It was hard to miss the excitement running through him. He reminded him of herself when she’d been training. The thought made Birdstar’s tail flick briefly in front of him, a quiet signal not to run valiantly straight into the fox’s teeth.
With a nod towards Stoneheart, claws flexed and ready for a fight, Birdstar pushed forward. The scent of fox was strong in the air, and they were bound to see it soon. Hopefully she could spot it before it bore down on one of them.

Stoneheart spotted the fox among the rocks, rising and moving forward with a growl. It seemed to know it was cornered and there was an almost desperate look to the animal's eyes, but before it could attack one of her clanmates she leaped forward with unsheathed claws. Kill it, or drive it off, the order had been, and right now there was nowhere for the fox to go so as far as Stoneheart was concerned, that left one viable option.

A battle-scarred fox growled from where it lay among the rocks, teeth bared as it rose to its' paws when the Skyclanners came into view. It had been beaten and driven off before by a group of them before, and now they came into its hiding spot? There were less of the cats this time around... And that was their mistake. The fox rose quickly to its' paws, rushing forward only for a gray shape to barrel into it from the side with needle-sharp claws. The fox turned, snarling, but for the moment those sharp teeth only found empty air.
Stoneheart used Jumping Strike on Fox for -7 sp, dealing -8+3 damage.

The moment Stoneheart's head snapped to attention, Sunpaw did too, his bright yellow eyes fixating on the russet form of the canid crouched there before them. It launched an attack at the same moment his clanmate did, and the two collided, snapping and snarling. Without hesitating, Sunpaw dashed forward too, ducking down and sliding beneath the fox, but as he raised his claws to attack, it lashed out at him, briefly catching his tail before he managed to yank it away with no major damage.
Sunpaw attempted and failed a Belly Rake, dealing no damage (except -5 to himself) at the cost of 25 stamina.
