It's the Simple Things [Open]

Thornstalker led her little band of cats out of camp. Just a simple hunting patrol that is all this would be. All she needed for the moment. A good task for the day. "We are aiming to bring back four pieces of prey today. That will be enough." She told the others that were with her. Leafbare was coming to a close, but prey was still scarce and they needed all they could get. The small pale warrior turned to the others as they reached a good spot. "Alright we can split up here, yell for help if things get dicey."

Stormwatcher was busy napping in camp like he was whenever he could. The lazy tom was snoring so much it might reawaken the dead.

A sharp nudge awoke him and he blinked wearily.. Standing above him was Wolfblossom and she had that disappointed look on her face again that said he needed to be doing something more useful.

He awoke sitting up suddenly looking around his hair all messy from the nest he was in. ... Where was wolf he wondered confused as he let out a big yawn.

oh... it was just a dream that she had been bugging him about a patrol... but he didnt need the dream to become a reality so when a patrol was being gathered for hunting he joined Thornstalker even if a bit grumpily and tired.

"ohh I cant wait for this leafbear to be over" he muttered under his breath.

The big tom trotted along next to Thorn and some new apprentice he hadnt met yet.

"oh hey... I'm stormwatcher he introduced himself to Juniperpaw.

Thornstalker looked over to Juniperpaw for a second before nodding her answer. "That's fine. Just be careful not to scare any prey." She told the apprentice, blue eyes glancing up to Stormwatcher for a moment before turning back ahead. "Let's get this started." The pale warrior knew that the apprentice wouldn't be too far from her side so she took that in account while she picked what prey she would go after.

It didn't take too long to find a bird, picking among tree roots for some seeds or something. The small pale warrior followed what  her body told her, letting muscle memory take over. Once she was close enough she pounced. It was an easy catch thankfully, and the first prey of the day. Just three more to go.

Stormwatcher blinked sleepily at the eager apprentice's reply.  He didnt exactly get attatched easily and so he just gave a little grunt and nod in return.

He already was close to Stoneheart and he didnt like that since it was a vulnerabilty.  He generally only cared for himself and now that he also cared for stoneheart (as much as he hated to admit that) he didnt want any other close relationships forming.

It was more of a self defense measure than anything else, he had lost his family at a young age and so friendships to him were just asking for grief later on when Juniperpaw inevitably got snatched up by some hawk or taken by some twoleg or drowned or got hit by some monster on the road... all of which had happened to his family before and he was not eager to open himself up to any more grief of that matter.  To summarize, he didnt want to be her friend, she was just a clanmate on his team for now and that was that.

With all that in mind he responded : "yeah good to meet you to kiddo, lets focus on the hunt" he said with another tired yawn.  ugh hed rather be asleep right now than doing this.

He spotted two squirrels!  One close to him and the other on Junipaw's side of the patrol, if they timed ir right maybe they both could score here.

He flicked his tail directing her and hoped that the young one would know what to do.

Alright, two out of four so far. Though she wasn't too pleased that Stormwatcher missed, she knew that it happened to everyone all the time, so she couldn't say much. If she opened her mouth now she knew she would be unlucky enough to miss her next one.

Blue eyes turned to Juniperpaw who had caught her piece of prey as well. Things were going well so far. If they kept this up then they could return to camp soon rather than later. The pale warrior turned her attention away from the other two cats and back to finding prey. After a little bit of walking and scent the small warrior came across a mouse. While she wasn't too used to hunting ground prey like this, she would give it a shot. As soon as she attempted, the mouse scurried into a little hole under the tree, causing the warrior to swear.
