At the announcement of a patrol, the warrior turned tail to follow Brookstone out into the snow. There was nowhere that felt more like home than out on Riverclan territory with a patrol. There were no close quarters to awkwardly brush past clanmates like a specter, nor strangers she had to force himself to interact with at the border in order to uphold formalities. While she never shied away from a conversation, there was really nothing sweeter than an intimate patrol. In this space that existed between camp and the perimeter of the other clans, Fawneye felt the most comfortable. She would always play her role of being a good and obedient warrior and go wherever her leader and deputy determined, but she'd always taken a sigh of relief whenever she was assigned hunting duty. She'd never admit it to herself, but she was a respectable hunter in terms of skill, well-toned legs giving her an advantage in capturing the quicksilvery fish that lay beneath the surface of the icy river waters. It wasn't uncommon for her to return to camp with nimble catches.

Yet with leaf-bare laying claim on their community, the ragdoll would be thankful enough for the smallest, weakest mouse to feed their own. She wasn't looking for the glory of an impressive kill, but something that could at least warm the bones of a kit or elder. Although when she caught the scent of a mouse she didn't bat an eye. It was quick work to catch up with it, concentration pinpointed on the fleeing animal. Her surroundings blended into the background, softening before becoming completely obscure as her heart pounded from adrenaline and the pressure that there were cats that needed this. With a huff, she lept at the mouse.

Fawneye attempted to catch a mouse! She succeeded!

With a quick snap, she felt the bones of the mouse crunch under her jaws and she lifted her head, a smile on her maw. Yes! She had caught something.

Then, she heard it. A low rumbling sound stopped her in her tracks, making quick work of hiding the mouse beneath the snow. She perked her ears and tried searching for the source but hearing Brookstone's yowl, she did what any coward would do. She crouched, allowing the snow to grab a hold of more of her white fur. It covered her chin and when she scurried back behind a tree, too frightened to look at the Twoleg that lay ahead, her legs trembled. She waits and the sound soon stops, easing her nerves. "Brookstone?!" she called, "Are you alright?"
