Subject: Quickkit's Apprentice Ceremony Fri 24 Feb 2023 - 19:40
Wolfblossom leapt up to the tallbranch, excitement gleaming in her blue eyes. Today was to be her daughter's apprentice ceremony, and while it was bittersweet that all her kits would finally be out of the nursery and no longer need her as much, she was excited and proud of them. They had grown fast, and Skyclan would be stronger with them in their ranks. Their missing warriors had been returned to them, and it had even stopped snowing finally. That, Wolfblossom thought, was a good sign.
"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch for a clan meeting!"
This had to be it. There was no other option. It was finally her time. Her littermates had left the nursery and started their trainings, and she had pouted at their headstart. Having a nest to herself to spread out in was nice though... She joined the growing crowd, paws kneading the ground below impatiently. Who would be her mentor? Maybe Falconpaw was right and Wolfblossom had saved the best mentor for her.... Hopefully her siblings weren't out training and could be present. Flashing a grin up at her mother, she settled in to wait.
It wasn't long before the clan gathered before her, and Wolfblossom smiled at the sight of Quickkit in the crowd. Once a few more cats had gathered, she spoke. "Quickkit, step forward," Wolfblossom waited for her to do so before continuing. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time you become an apprentice of Skyclan. From now until you earn your warrior name you will be known as Quickpaw. Your mentor will be Birdstar. I trust her and know that she will teach you everything she can." Birdstar was their leader, she was Wolfblossom's sister and best friend. There was nobody in the clan aside from herself that she would have trusted more with her kits.
Quickkit was finally an apprentice! Falconpaw lead the chant just as loudly as he had for his other siblings. "QUICKPAW! QUICKPAW!" And her mentor was Birdstar! Falconpaw was happy that he'd been right. The best was last. He would give the new apprentice and the mentor a moment to speak, but then he ran up to his sister and gave her a gentle headbutt.
"See you on patrol Quickpaw!" He trotted away, tail held high and a bit of a bounce in his step. His siblings were coming along well, and he was loving every second of it. He couldn't wait to be assigned to the same patrol. Maybe he'd ask mom!

Birdstar
Birdstar sat quiet but expectant amongst the crowd as soon as Wolfblossom's summons rang out. She almost couldn't keep the smile off her face, but she managed to keep her expression neutral– though her restlessly shuffling paws betrayed her. As soon as the official words were done, Birdstar sent her sister a fond smile and hurried over to Quickpaw. It'd been a little while since she'd gained a new apprentice, though she'd spent plenty of time training with Rainpaw. Oh! I hope they get along. They should, they were family. Making a mental note to take them on patrol together soon, Birdstar bent down to touch her nose to Quickpaw's. "Congratulations. Go ahead and spend today meeting the other apprentices that aren't your littermates and getting comfortable in the new den. We'll start at dawn tomorrow." She purred before stepping away to let Falconpaw hurry over to greet his sister.
