| A ground still marred from falling debris and long-settled snow had been a welcome sight for the molly, finding the aching knot of anxiety slowly unravelling and allowing her a sense of freedom and stability once more. Breathing in the cold air softly, exhaling it out into a puff of visible air, the deputy made her way to the top of the rock she had not stood upon in moons, beaming with slight excitement. Sparkkit's paws tingled in anticipation as she stepped forward from the nursery entrance. She'd watched Goldenpaw and Sunpaw receive their apprentice names and mentors, and now she was about to be Sparkpaw. She was grateful her siblings stood beside her, and even more relieved that she hadn't been the first one of the five of them to be called. Sparkkit glanced around the gathering ThunderClan cats, wondering which one was about to be named as her mentor. Sunpaw's new mentor was Starlingfire, and Goldenpaw's was Mottlestar, the lucky furball! I'll get a great mentor, too, Sparkkit told herself stubbornly, giving her russet chest fur a lick to hopefully hide her uncertainty. | Three ginger kits out of the nursery, two torties still to go. Blazefang could hardly believe her babies were getting so grown up! This time it would be her little Spark’s turn, and the queen couldn’t keep from fidgeting impatiently. Did she and Dayquill have the best family or what? |

| It only took a few moments for a crowd to gather, eager eyes gazing up at the deputy, her twitching tail-tip betraying that the molly may have had the capacity for feeling anything but neutrality. Taking in a deep breath, she sought out the focus of today's ceremony by sight, moving forward on the stone as she did so. "Sparkkit, step forward." The deputy allowed the kit a moment, thinking on her next words. "You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From now until the day you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sparkpaw. Your mentor will be none other than myself. I will teach you all that I know. We begin tomorrow at dawn."
