Runningwater sighed heavily, surveying Windclans members before him. They were all busy at work. The same couldn't be said for the former deputy, though. The incompetent tom had been captured - of course he had, he wasn't able enough to keep even himself safe, it seemed. And now Runningwater had to take over his duties without being able to hold the title of deputy, something that Smallbean had never been worthy of to begin with. A part of him wished that the deputy would never return, maybe then the clan would be in safer paws.
Scaling the tallrock in one swift movement, Runningwater wasted no time. If he was going to do the deputys job, he would do it right. "Let all cats off enough to run the moors gather beneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting."

Batsong watched the new deputy with curisity at first...
The taking of Smallbean had been extra hard on her. She missed him more than she could ever admit to. She felt so much loss when he had been taken but she couldnt show just HOW much it was effecting her. Yes she could show to be sad... but not to the level it really stabbed her heart.
She couldnt let it effect her that way but it was. She cared about Small and in more ways than she probably was supposed to being med cat. But she never took action on her feelings, her job coming first and right now Small would still want her to go to the important meetings.
What had started off about curiosity of his new replacement however quickly turned to dislike. It was apperent that Runningwater had thought little of Smallbean. Also apparent how quickly Runningwater loved and gloated over his new promotion... Batsong didnt like Runningwater one bit for these reasons. But again, this was profesional not personal and so she would support the new deputy all personal matters aside.
She sat at the back not drawing attention to herself but was happy for sparrowkit

Eaglekit jumped up and down super excited "oh boy oh boy oh yes! this is gonna be the bestest meeting ever I can just tell. he glanced at his brother jaykit who was known to be a little more grumpy
"right jay?

Sparrowkit arrived later than most to the meeting, squeezing her small body past large warriors to get to her siblings. Eaglekit was already bouncing, that's how she found him in the crowd and sat down next to him. Her tail gently tapped his shoulder, a likely feeble attempt to calm him slightly. She just didn't quite have the energy to be that excited. The she-cat knew that she and her siblings were due to become apprentices sooner or later, and she would've bet her food for the next few sunrises that it would be one of her siblings first. She was quiet and small, not the best combination for warrior training, besides, her siblings definitely seemed to want it more.
On the other paw, she wanted to become an apprentice just to say that she had gotten it first.
Then she could learn how to properly protect her siblings, not just sit and watch them be ridiculous. Green eyes wandered up to the temporary deputy, vaguely curious. Maybe she would be first.

Kestrelkit walked to his siblings with his confident stride, Coyotegrin in tow. Settling down next to his siblings, he sat up tall and proud before gently shoulder checking Sparrowkit. "I bet its one of our big days. Maybe they'll apprentice you first since you're the youngest. Make it even, you know?" He glanced at Eaglekit, Jaykit, and then Coyotegrin as she leaned down to lick each of them on their heads.
"All of you will be the shining stars of WindClan. You just have to behave, that's all I ask of you four." She sighed, sitting down on her back paws. A lot of her children seem to be way too head strong, but that is probably her fault. All they did was turn out like her. It wasn't their fault.
"When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire."

Runningwater's keen eyes landed on the four kits as they gathered in the crowd. As keen as his eyes were, though, he wasn't able to tell which of the four were Sparrowkit. He hadn't taken the time to acquaint himself with any of them. Not that it mattered though, when her name was called Sparrowkit would step forward. All four of them would become apprentices today anyways. A good opportunity to show Shrikestar how capable he was, perhaps he would remain in his position when that lousy excuse for a deputy returned.
"Sparrowkit. Step forward." He beckoned the kit, letting a faint smile briefly cross his features when she separated from her sliblings. "You are now six moons old and are of age to become an apprentice. From this moment on, you will be known as Sparrowpaw. Adderdawn will be your mentor."
Jaykit had to restrain himself from rolling his eyes at Eaglekit's enthusiasm. "Yeah. Extrordinary." It was a relief when his other siblings approached to calm him down. Jaykit was nearly certain that it would be Kestrelkit who'd become an apprentice first. It would only make sense, after all. Technically he was the one who turned six moons old first.
The cat on the Highrock continued his words, calling to Sparrowkit, out of all of them. Not without a retort from Jaykit, though. "Heyyy, why does Sparrowkit go first?" He protested, looking to his mother. He hadn't expected to go first to begin with, but if Sparrowkit was the youngest, why did she get to go first? It made no sense! The cat up on the Tallrock must be loony, he didn't even go in order.

Eaglekit ignored the negative vibe that Jaykit always had as his eyes widened realizing that this was for Sparrowkit.
"yay! Sparrowpaw! he cheered loudly and oh so happily like usual.

The ongoing ceremony had only earned a fraction of Adderdawn's attention. There were too many other thoughts for him to really pay the ringing words any mind. But when the stand-in called his name, the little warrior lifted his head, blinking focus to his vision. Another apprentice? He was... surprised, to say the least. Temperamental outbursts weren't often rewarded. And that it was one of Coyotegrin's new kits... Sighing and silently promising himself to treat this one better than his last, Adderdawn pushed through the crowd, giving the rest of the new apprentice's family a curt nod before bending to touch his nose to hers. "We'll start training when we can. Congratulations," he murmured before stepping away to let the others celebrate.
