Mottlestar sighed deeply, huddling the small kits closer to her belly. Snow had hit much faster than she had anticipated, and to say the mother was prepared was... very much an inaccurate statement. Still, all of her kits had made it - even if there had been a little bit of catastrophe in the beginning. Still... they were safe. They were a close family. And how her heart hurt, knowing that Minnowfin wasn't there to see them... the beautiful group, all precious. So precious.

Murkykit was one of them, huddled as close to her mother as she could be. The cold seemed to bite at her a lot more than she liked, with her soft fuzz not quite built for keeping out the winter. Not yet, anyways. So she stayed close to her mom, her eyes closed as she rested. That was all she wanted to do in the cold - stay close to Mottlestar, and sleep.

If you had to ask, Firekit hated the biting cold. It made her grumpy and irritated and she wanted it to stop immediately. But she was a good kit and a good kit didn't throw fits just because it was cold!

That being said, she was eyeing Murkykit strangely. Staring at her sister with tiny intense green eyes. Oh StarClan she felt this unbearable urge to BITE her. She wanted to so so bad... Unfortunately for Murkykit, Firekit gave in to that urge.

Reeling back her little rust coloured head, she gave the largest, yet tiniest controlled bite to her sister. She gave a satisfied look, purring proudly.

New to the world and everything around him, Thrushkit lay curled up against Mottlestar's belly, attempting to get as much warmth as he could. Leaf-bare was still something largely unfamiliar to the tom-kit, and having just been a little bundle of fur, shivered in the cold. His mother, was beside him now, and he'd rest himself as much as possible, until he would have the strength the head out and explore the world on his own.

She barely knew what warmth was at this point. Ice threatened to grasp every inch of her tiny body, nearly sending her into a permanent sleep. It was only the piles of kitten fluff surrounding her that managed to keep her breathing. Rosekit curled up tight into her family’s comfort, too tired to cry. If only it was a different time of year. The little kitten desperately wanted to move and play and know anything other than the cold dark void she was chained to. But oh well. At least she could dream.
