Subject: Crowkit's Apprentice Ceremony Fri 12 Aug 2022 - 15:35
Her brother– and Bloodstrike's –return had been unprecedented, but Birdchaser was pleased nonetheless. The kinship she felt for Crowkit came more from the knowledge they shared blood than any relation she had with him, but he was family all the same, and the deputy was grinning as she looked down on the Clan from atop the Tallbranch. Hopefully, he would adjust to life as a warrior well, and be ready to leave the sheltered world of Twolegs behind. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree, gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!"

Crowkit wasted no time getting out of the cramped, hard nursery. He didn't dare say it out loud, but he was missing the warm, soft rounded nest his twolegs had provided him with. He forced those thoughts away though. He was a Skyclan cat! He was supposed to be fierce and terrifying! At least that's what Bloodstrike had told him.
The adult sized "kit" sat at the very front of the crowd, tall and rigid. Was he doing this right?

It looked a little silly, watching Crowkit come shuffling out of the nursery. He had no business being holed up in there; he belonged in the warriors' den. Hopefully, Birdchaser would see him there soon. Watching him settle (and snorting a little at how stiff he looked), the deputy nodded and looked to address the Clan. "Crowkit, you've– clearly –more than surpassed the age of six moons. Finally, you'll get the chance to learn everything SkyClan has to offer you and take on the training you should have so long ago. From now until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Crowpaw. Your mentor will be Moonlily. She's respectable, and she'll teach you well." Birdchaser lifted her gaze beyond her brother, focused on the mouth of camp. She knew Briarstar's daughter was lingering somewhere just there, and she hoped she'd be brave enough to venture into camp and greet her apprentice. She also hoped Moonlily's own life on the fringes would grant her some insight into how to help Crowpaw assimilate. The ceremony concluded, Birdchaser leapt down from the Tallbranch to cheer for her brother.

Wolfblossom's whiskers twitched as she spotted Crowkit making his way out of the nursery. He'd certainly outgrown that den long ago, and she was glad to see him finally return to the clan and become an apprentice. It was long overdue. Noticing how stiff he sat in the crowd, Wolfblossom offered him an encouraging smile as Birdchaser called him forward. He was given to Moonlily to train, and selfishly Wolfblossom wondered how a cat who could barely enter camp most days would manage. The last thing Crowpaw needed was to be isolated from the clan he'd only just returned to. She liked Moonlily and thought she was capable, but... This was her brother. She had a right to worry.
Still, once the ceremony concluded, she approached with a congratulatory smile, none of the worry she felt showing on her face. "You'll do fine, brother. Training's not so bad." And he could come to her if he needed help, though she didn't say it out loud just in case Moonlily were to hear and take offense.
Moonlily typically kept an ear out during the ceremonies. After all, she was supposed to come gather with the rest of the Clan. It was just a matter of fact that she felt no need to enter when she could hear perfectly well from the entrance. Her tail had curled around her paws as she listened, her attention being sharpened the moment she heard her name called. An apprentice? Hm. Alright. The thought ran through her mind. Surely, they wouldn't want her to train a cat when she herself could hardly be in camp? Though, the cat in question made sense. Even though they were almost older than her, Crowpaw still needed to acclimate into proper clan life.
Taking a deep breath, the fluffy molly made her way into camp, going over to greet the cat under her tutelage. "I'm sure you'll do just fine, we'll begin tomorrow. I tend to stay outside of the camp, so meet me out there once you're ready, alright?" She'd give him the respect an adult cat was afforded. It'd be almost demeaning to be waking him up every morning for training, though, if she needed to... She supposed she would.
