brightkit's apprentice ceremony

The speed at which her kits had grown up flashed quite literally before her eyes. It was time for them to begin their apprenticeship training, with a particular black molly being the first of the bunch to reach the point she felt they were truly ready. She had spent the time making sure that Brightkit was groomed, and thankfully, experience had let the mother let go of her need of perfection. Instead, simply being neat and tidy was enough for her. After all, personalities came out through imperfections. Shaking out her own pelt, Mottlerose lept onto the Highrock.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Brightkit was exited this was her first clan meeting she could go to as she was finally 6 moons old it had admittedly gone pretty fast, one second she was walking out of the nursery, the next her apprentice ceremony had started! She was really exited and wondered who her mentor could be it could be anyone and she didn’t really know any cat here. As she stepped into the circle of cats she could feel herself beeming with pride and joy.

His kits were about to become apprentices already? The speed at which they'd grown was quite unbelievably fast; Minnowstar had done his best to treasure the time of true innocence. Today would be Brightkit's ceremony. "Look who's especially radiant today!" he teased, a grin on his maw and a joy that could only be identified as pride in his eyes. Unable to resist, the father rasped his tongue once over the kit's head, tidying her fur just a bit more. A bit of a memory tugged at the back of his mind, a memory of his own apprentice ceremony and how his dad had never been able to witness it. I'm here. he thought, turning his gaze towards his mate with a smile twitching the corners of his maw.

A warm smile was on her maw as she saw her family gathering below. She had thought long and hard as to who would be the mentor for each of her kits, who she would entrust with their lives. Brightkit, soon to be Brightpaw, certainly had a shining life ahead of her. "Brightkit, please step forward. You have reached the age of six moons old, and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From now until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Brightpaw. I trust Foxglare to be your mentor, as they will teach you everything you need to know." Foxglare may have been the newest warrior among their ranks, but that would only further help them teach. After all, they had just gone through it! What better way to connect?

Leaping off of the Highrock, the she-cat gave her kit a smile, before letting her go meet her mentor. She went and sat next to Minnowstar, joining in the cheers for her kit.

Foxglare, recently returned from a hunting patrol, was already sat among her clanmates when Mottlerose called. Apparently an apprentice ceremony; judging by a beaming kit within the crowd. A smile grew upon her face-- the black kit was already clearly passionate; hopefully, that excitement would only grow as they aged.

Then, though, she heard her name. Foxglare flinched in surprise; her? A mentor? She was a full warrior, but.. this duty was important. To train to future of ThunderClan was the most important role a warrior could complete. And she was hardly a moon out of apprenticeship herself; the warrior's den still keeping an air of foreignity.. And, yet, Foxglare was entrusted with this. She was now a mentor. Steeling her expression, the ginger tabby padded to the now-apprentice.

"Make sure to rest well today-- we'll start your training at next day's sunhigh." The warrior meowed, lowering her form to press her nose against Brightpaw's.

Brightkit Wondered how her mentor could be she had gotten a better understanding of the cats around her and she knew Fawnshine, Comfreyheart, and Nightstalker and he wasn’t even a Thunderclan cat! She hoped her mentor would suit her and actually work with her. That’s all she would want from her mentor. As she was thinking Minnowstar her father looked like he needed to groom her just a little bit more,she was right as her father had done so, she couldn’t feel more prepared.

Foxglare add that name to the list of cats she knew, also her new named sounded good to “Brightpaw” what a great name to have she thought to herself, training at suhigh Perfect! That gave her time to rest before tomorrows training. Okay, I’ll be ready Foxglare! She Mewed. When she finished touching noses with Foxglare and finishing their conversation Briarkit her sister ran over to join her.

Briarkit had congratulated her and she was thankful for that she let a smile leak onto her expression and she also promised to save some nests for her littermates, a lot had just happened as she was left alone for the first time since becoming an apprentice and she was worn out so she headed straight for her new nest, not however before grabbing a mouse from the fresh kill pile.
