nightkit's apprentice ceremony

The almost identical triplets would soon be ready to start training, and today, one of them would be the first to be apprenticed. As usual, he climbed up onto Highrock and began the ceremony by calling for the clan's attention. "Let all cats of Thunderclan gather below Highrock for a clan meeting."

Upon the unusual summoning, Nightkit poked her head out of the nursery. She dashed outside, wanting to be the first of her siblings to see and hear what was going on. For once in her life, any thoughts of troublemaking were passive and contained entirely in her mind- she was sitting politely not far from the other gathered cats, in a manner that might have seemed almost suspicious to those familiar with the kits and their mischief. After all, if she made a good impression, maybe she'd even beat her siblings to being apprenticed!

Ready to proceed with the ceremony, Minnowfin continued. "Nightkit," he gave her an amused grin. "You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Nightpaw and your mentor will be Dayquill. I trust that he will teach you all he knows." The tom then joined the others in cheering for the newly named apprentice.

Mottlerose had arrived late to this ceremony, having been out hunting to take advantage of the Newleaf air. But she caught the end of the ceremony, a smile rising to her maw vividly. "Nightpaw! Nightpaw! Nightpaw!" She would enthusiastically cheer. It was a great accomplishment.
