What Is This Feeling? (Closed for Snow, Deer, and Osprey)

Snowfoot sat in camp, shuffling her paws as she stared at the sparrow in front of her instead of eating it. The embarrassment of Ospreyquill’s ceremony still hung over her like a dense fog. Quillpaw. She’d called her Quillpaw! And then she’d just… walked away? That was stupid. Why did she do that? Because of the way she makes me feel she thought. But why was that? She couldn’t have a crush, could she? Snowfoot knew it was perfectly okay to crush on a she-cat, after all, wasn’t Frostgaze’s mate a tom? But still, her failure at the ceremony had certainly not helped her chances with Ospreyquill. “You idiot!” she snapped to herself, still staring at her food.

"Whatever you did, it is no excuse to call yourself something your not!" Deerleap said from behind Snowfoot. her amber eyes glared at her friend with concern. "Is there something I should know about? You wouldn't want to upset a queen now would you?" she asked, leaning in to glare at her friend warningly.

Snowfoot jumped, startled at the voice that broke her from her thoughts. “Oh, hi Deerleap,” she mewed, turning around. “Um, did you ever embarrass yourself in front of Sootwhisker, you know, before you were a couple?”

Deerleap looked at Snowfoot worriedly. her friend was never this jumpy, and she never asked random questions like this. "Yes, plenty of times! It's natural to embarrass yourself in front of other cats, and too often you're overthinking it! Most likely, they've already forgotten it! take it from the Queen of Overthinking, this is one problem you don't have to agonize over," She said finally. Snowfoot was still a friend, and she should give her the best advice about it.

"Hold on, is there somecat I should know about?" her amber eyes narrowed as a suspicion came to her.

Snowfoot should’ve known that Deerleap would figure it out. They’d certainly known each other long enough that they could read each other pretty well. Still, Snowfoot squirmed a bit uncomfortably. “I think… I might be attracted to Ospreyquill.” she mewed, shuffling her paws. “But you saw what happened at her ceremony!”

Deerleap watched her friend admit her crush as if she was admitting that she'd lied to Murkystar and broke the warrior code or something. she brushed her tail down her friend's spine, purring, "You seem to have forgotten that thousands of cats before us have hah crushed before, too! even if ospreyquill doesn't like you back, you'll move on! besides, I don't think she would have noticed your slip-up there. I didn't hear anything during my ceremony; i was too excited."

hopefully, Snowfoot wouldn't dwell too much on it. and maybe opsreyquill could be a bit kinder than she usually was...

Snowfoot looked at Deerleap. “I want to try to talk to her again. I just don’t know how.”

"It's ok, you'll get there," Deerleap purred, reaching out her tabby tail to stroke her friend's back.
