Spottedpaw's Warrior Ceremony

As the days passed, Murkystar found herself watching as apprentice after apprentice completed their training. It seemed that mentors were regularly approaching her about their apprentice being ready to take the oath of a warrior, and it was a small source of excitement and pride in such dark times. Through it all, ShadowClan was still doing well, and growing and learning. Perhaps, with a bit more time, they could stand a chance against the dark forest. For now though.... "ShadowClan! Gather in the shadow of Jaggedrock."

Snowfoot limped over to Jaggedrock upon hearing the familiar call. Her leg was healing, if slowly, but she wasn’t quite ready to hunt and patrol again yet. She still found ceremonies a welcome distraction. Sitting in such a way as not to cramp her bad leg, Snowfoot waited to see what all this was about.

Pacing near the center of the camp, Duskflight smiled, his chest fuelled with pride. Of course, knowing that their... guests were also there for her ceremony was less than comforting, but the tom knew that she deserved it more than ever. Spottedpaw has trained hard, and despite Leaf-bare's impact on all, she still thrived. At Murkystar's call for a meeting, Duskflight quickly padded over, eyes keen as he spotted Spottedpaw.

Taking a silent seat next to her, the warrior offered her an encouraging nod— knowing how special this day was.

Deerleap padded into the clearing. catching the look on Duskflight's face, she could guess what this was about. Spottedpaw would be a good warrior, she was sure. she gave the spotted she a dip of her head-- a sign of respect between equals-- before settling down next to her father.

Spottedpaw emerged from the apprentices den and made her way over to the jaggedrock where the rest of the clan was gathering. Once she reached, she sat down and patiently waited to see what was going to happen.

The cats of ShadowClan gathered around, and Murkystar breathed a sigh of relief as she caught sight of Spottedpaw. Once all of the gathered cats had settled, Murkystar continued. "ShadowClan! I've summoned you here today to witness the naming of a new warrior. Spottedpaw, please step forward." She mewed, pausing while the apprentice did so. "I call upon all those present and watching to gaze upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of our noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Spottedpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Spottedpaw stepped forward and nodded simply and spoke with a proud voice "I do!"

Murkystar nodded in acknowledgement as Spottedpaw voiced her agreement, smiling as her head lifted to gaze down at the young she-cat. "Then by the powers granted to me, I am pleased to acknowledge you as a full warrior of ShadowClan. Spottedpaw, from this point on you will be known as Spottedcloud. We honor your determination and courage." She mewed, leaping from Jaggedrock to rest her head gently on the she-cat's. "Don't forget, you will hold a silent vigil through the day. If something happens, let me know." She mewed softly before stepping away to allow others to move forward.

"Spottedcloud! Spottedcloud!" Deerleap yowled out her friend's new name along with the rest of the clan.
