Dandelionflight backed away a few pawsteps, as Hailfall was knocked off the Badger's back. He snapped his jaws around its scruff, and Elkpaw darted in and lashed out wildly. Dandelionflight jumped in to take their place. She raked her claws down the badger's side, and then wildly struck out her paws, hoping to deal some more damage.

He'd had enough of these cats. Once the badger was finally free to move, it lunged forward and bit the first cat that it could. For as long as it's mate couldn't get away, it would not retreat either.

Slightpaw whipped around to see the other badger attack his clanmate. Mouse dung! it looks painful! he turned his attention back to the badger he was attacking. no badger would hurt his clanmates and get away with it! with a shriek, the white tom snapped his jaws around the badger's hindleg.

The badger was weakening, and now heavily injured — but sometimes, that made them more dangerous. Hollyshine sharpened as she heard the sounds of a cat in pain. The other badger! They better be okay! Lips curling back, Hollyshine went for their badger’s belly, slipping under it. But by the time her claws were underneath it, the badger startled and stomped, and with a frustrated yelp she just barely darted away. “Fox-dung!” she cursed between breaths, recovering. Her fur was all out of sorts as she crouched, streaked with grime and leaf-litter. She glanced at the big warrior beside her and called, “Can you take it, Briarfang?”

Briarthorn nodded to Hollyshine, growling at the badger as she stared it down. ”Protect yourself, try not to take anymore hits if you can help it!” Once she was sure that Hollyshine was out of the way and wouldn’t be caught between her and the badger, she launched all her weight forward and shoved the predator backward, onto it’s back. With unsheathed claws she tore into it’s belly, sending coarse fur and blood spattering in every direction. Continuously she tore into it, until she finally felt it stop struggling and breathing slow to a stop. ”Go! Help the others!” Briarthorn was panting from the effort, taking a second to catch her breath before jumping back into the battle.

Briarthorn used Belly Rake successfully, dealing -15 Health Points and using -25 Stamina Points. Badger has been KOed!

The perilously thin tendrils of control, strained and stretched to razor-like thinness, finally gave way all at once.

In one liminal heartbeat, the situation was uplifting itself; Hailfall was atop the badger reducing any chances of unanticipated movement, while she and Dandelionflight darted about with all the welcome and grace of late summer gnats. In the next, every carefully wound knotting of control unraveled; Hailfall vanished as the badger suddenly broke free, a sickening wet crunch webbing through the frigid air as jagged teeth made contact with Dandelionflight. Sharp, fiery tendrils of panic clogged up the heaving entreaties of her fluttering respiratory system, Elkpaw's pale gaze gleaming wide and frantic at the realization of the abrupt rising in stakes. Hailfall had gotten bucked somewhere skywards and seemed unlikely to be making a reappearance anytime soon and the remainder of her Clanmates were still locked deep in their own struggle against the neighboring badger- it was just her and Dandelionflight, who was currently held between the badger's teeth.

Thick, viscous blood continued to leak steadily from her aching nose and mouth, the lingering pressure within her skull a sharp reminder of her own ailing state, webbing out upon her tongue with a sticky weight as she puffs out a frantic, "hold on!" Diving behind the creature with a hasty-assembled scuffling of steps, Elkpaw was quick to latch onto the bristly tail of the lumbering badger and heave, wrenching her entire being back with all of her quickly fading strength.

Dandelionflight thought the fight was going well. Nobody had gotten hurt, and the Badgers were almost defeated. That was until a searing pain shot through her leg. She let out a yowl of pain as she turned to see the badger's fangs buried in her leg. Elkpaw was luckily there to help and pulled the badger away. Dandelionflight was able to break free, and she turned to face the snarling beast. With her energy renewed, she reared up and brought her paws down hard on its head. It fell to the ground with a loud thud, and she turned to inspect the wound on her leg.
