Slightkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstorm made her way towards Tallbranch, which was pretty normal now.  She climbed the tree.  Her eyes moved across the camp, looking at the Skyclan cats, many of which were busily going around camp or getting ready to leave on patrols.  It was a cool morning, which Ashstorm generally liked because of her long fur, however it was even cold for her.

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree, please gather for a clan meeting!" She called out, waiting for two specific cats to show up.

Slightkit scrambled out of the nursery. his white pelt was sleek from his mother's constant cleaning, and the blue jay feather on his tail was brighter than ever. holding his head high, he stepped in front of the Tallbranch. he was more than ready to become a -paw.

She waited, looking out on the crowd that gathered.  When spotting the kit and the cat that she was looking for, she continued on with the announcement.  "Slightkit, please step forward," She called, eyes on the kit which she spoke about.

"Slightkit, you have reached the age of six moons and are now ready to become an apprentice," She said after the kit went towards the front of the crowd.  "From today until the day you finish your training and become a warrior, you will be known as Slightpaw."  Her eyes moved to the cat she had chosen to train the kit.  "Your mentor will be Hailfall.  He is a strong cat who I feel will train you well." With that, she hopped off of the Tallbranch.

Hailfall blinked as he heard his name over the croud, his excitement already starting to brew in his stomach. His first apprentice! And to kit he already knew and appreciated, how lucky! He had already made promises to take them out and find decorations together, now that job would be much easier without the need to steal him from training. He bounded over, a wide smile on his maw as he approached the other white cat and pressed his nose to theirs.

"How exciting! I can't wait to take you out to experience the world outside, Slightpaw. But first, take the rest of the day to get your new nest in the apprentice's den and meet your new denmates. We'll start training tomorrow." He declared, already planning which locations to visit first on their first day of training. Surely no cat would mind if their territory tour visited all the prettiest places first or had a few scenic routes. Slightpaw would still get all the knowledge they needed, but on their first time out of camp, Hailfall felt the urge to show them just what they were missing out on.
