The trek to the camp had been uncomfortable for the molly, inwardly worried that the longer they took to find it, the more time they gave themselves to be discovered, and the scent trail left by Burningwing and Amberdawn had grown ever stale. Achlys was also very aware of the stench of blood wafting through the territory around them, blood marring the snow and pine needle strewn floor beneath as they eventually came upon ShadowClan's camp. Within heartbeats everything around her exploded, her father taking on the leader, Burningwing's skinned pelt soaking his light fur crimson and reminding her what they were here for - revenge.

She was too busy admiring the chaos around her, being caught off guard as a ShadowClan warrior barrelled into her, burying his teeth deep in her scruff and tearing out fur from her neck. Achlys hissed venomously, detaching herself and watching calico fur drift away from his maw, anger bubbling in her chest at the thought that this might be her brother's murderer. No- No, he had to be- the claw marks scored along his body had to be Apollo's as he fought against certain death, a desperate attempt at preserving his life; there wasn't any other explanation.

"It was you, wasn't it? You killed him," Achlys hissed, unsheathing her claws, moving to strike him hard across the shoulder and once more across the face, her father's roar providing her with fresh fire to fight.

For Apollo? Who in StarClan was Apollo? It didn't matter, she dismissed the thought quickly. What mattered was ShadowClan's victory, their survival. If they failed here.... Who knew what would happen. She refused to think about it too hard, she wouldn't let that happen. Stepping to the side and starting under the tom's belly, she lashed out with sharp claws at his exposed underbelly.

"What? You mean the third rogue to trespass on my territory within the moon? Of course I did, he wasn't giving up, wouldn't flee, so what other choice did I have? It was his choice to die that day. Not mine." Nightstalker hissed. What point was there to deny it? Even if it truly wasn't him, he would have anyways had he had the means that day. Ratrunner was only doing what he needed to to make sure that Nightstalker lived to see another night. Reeling back from the rogues slashes, he waited for the paws to fall before he launched himself forwards.

Marshmallow awoke to the call of her leader. Shaking the bits of moss off of her black and white pelt, it wasn't long before the twinge of blood hit her dark pink nose. She wondered if her scars opened up, but looking down, they were still normal, after she blinked the sleep from her eyes and adjusted to the bright daylight, she realised the scent was coming from outside. And she had only just processed what Murkystar said. Defend? Then she poked her head out of the den and noticed that her clanmates were in battle. Attacking rogues. Marshmallow looked around, spotting the medicine cat den. Basilbloom isn't here... She thought with a bit of panic. I could get really hurt and no cat could save me... Loudnose is still in there, right? She stalked, hopefully the rogues were too caught up in battle to notice she was slinking towards the medicine den. Once she reached it, she unsheathed her claws, preparing to fight whoever wanted to go inside. I'm a stronger cat now, no reason to be afraid of these rogues... wait... Her eyes spotted two cats, they looked weird, something was on their backs... Oh no...

She could recognise them. Amberdawn and Burningwing. But it wasn't the warriors fighting, no, it was their pelts.

Sleep had been restless for Webshadow, coming in short passes that left him turning in his nest. He'd felt unsettled as he watched the sun rise... a creeping feeling of worry like ants crawling through his pelt. He couldn't seem to shake the feeling, but as he watched the daylight patrol leave, he decided it was best to just grapple with the discomfort. Not without a world-weary sigh, Webshadow retired to his nest, appreciative that Frostgaze was near by.

The next time he rolled over, a shape loomed not far away, nudging Frostgaze quietly. Sleep clouded his vision for a moment, but a few quick blinks cleared his eyes. Murkystar? He wondered blearily. He tried to will himself to get to his paws and investigate, but sleep pulled him back in heavily.

The thick stench of blood and a shriek of fury snapped him awake in a heartbeat. Stumbling to his feet, he shoved out of the den in a haze. His Clanmates raced past him, and Webshadow fell in with a half-bound. Not far out of camp, his Clanmates had already locked claws with what seemed to be... a band of rogues? Didn't we get rid of them? But none of these ones looked like the cats that had come for Batglow, though. Ratrunner shoved past his shoulder, leaping forward to lock with– Amberdawn? A shudder passed through him at the sight of the queen's torn and ragged pelt.

Bile rose up in his throat, and he spun around. A flashing memory of a bloody, dark pelt cloaked over amber fur rose in his mind, and he fought to keep the image away. But the way he turned landed his attention on Murkystar–and the sight of Burningwing's pelt hung loosely over golden fur. Webshadow made a wretching noise before he could steel himself, then gathered himself with a deliberate shake of his head before leaping into the surge of battle, barreling into the first rogue he saw.

Nightstalker's disregard of her brother's life gave way to an intense rage coursing through her veins, his way of blaming Apollo's death on himself striking her as arrogance and cruelty, and she growled deeply, tail lashing across the dirt of the camp floor. He attacked before she had a chance to reply, and Achlys attempted to dodge one of the blows from his claws, stretching out her own towards the ShadowClan warrior she believed responsible for her brother's demise. She was grateful for her agility in that moment as the heavier of the hits barely missed her, and her own claws scored through his fur, blood welling up.

"I find that hard to believe, that he chose to die," she hissed through her teeth, waiting for his next move, feeling blood dribble down her fur, turning her own white and creamy patches red.

Klaus knew better than to underestimate leaders. He'd gotten extremely lucky... a lot. If he didn't use his brain then eventually luck wouldn't be enough. It might not even be enough now. The Shadowclanners were defending their home, after all. Klaus knew enough about cornered beasts, having been one himself on many occasions, to know that you needed to be wary.

And then the need to be wary rose it's ugly head... or rather rolled under him and lashed out at his belly. Like a cat spotting a Sudden Cucumber behind it, Klaus kicked off the ground and launched himself upward into the air, true startled cat style, before twisting his body just a bit and used his tail as a counter balance to fall off to the side of his opponent.

His claws reached out mercilessly hoping to slash out one of the she-cat's pretty little eyes in retaliation.

The tom launched himself into the air, and Murkystar quickly righted herself, getting to her paws and turning her head to protect her eyes from his lashing claws. They hit in her neck and shoulder instead, but as he landed she grasped his scruff in her jaws and clamped down as hard as she could, refusing to let go.

"I'm not alone. In fact, I'd say your clan is in far more dire straits," Sick amusement was clear in her eyes, and as she was tackled and pinned to the ground she gazed a little stunned around the clearing, watching her group brutally attack the unsuspecting and furious clan cats. His next words hit hard, and she hissed at Nightstalker, attempting to wriggle onto her paws to throw him off. Failing, she bit at his paw, ensuring that her attempt wasn't entirely wasted. Achlys spat out blood and fur, growling at the tom once more.

"What you needed to do? You had to murder him, did you? You just needed to kill another cat," the molly was beyond reason and his admittance of his part in Apollo's death only added to it further. "In an ideal scenario, your entire clan would be laying dead at my father's paws for what you did to my brother. And that's not just what I need to do, that's what I want." She spat her last words at him, waiting for another blow to fall as she tried to find her way out of the pin.
