Batpaw smiled slightly upon hearing Daisypaw's words of encouragement.  Thanks... That means alot.


She watched her friend take the shot at the hare... it missed she frowned but shrugged. Always next time I guess.

She blinked a couple times with a pause at the rest of Daisypaws words...

after a long silence due to her having no idea on what to say she finally spoke.  She knew how she felt it was just so hard for her to put it into words.  Unlike her friend, talking did not come easily.

I had alot of fun too.  Daisypaw... You are a really good friend of mine.  You should meet Scorchpaw I played with him as a kit alot, you two would really like each other... who knows maybe even more than just like?
she winked at her friend especially at the last part purring a little with a giggle.  She no longer had the stutter when talking to Daisypaw, this was because she was comfortable around her now and was not so nervous when speaking to her.

As shy as she initially was, once someone got to know her Batpaw became very relaxed around them and very friendly.  She gave Daisypaw a big hug purring softly So... yes. I consider you a really good friend and I'm glad you feel the same she said releasing her friend from the hug.


She sniffed the air and smelled rabbit, sure enough not far from them was a rabbit hopping along throuhg the snow... hmm maybe just one more shot... she thought to herself crouching forward poinitn to the rabbit with her tail so Daisypaw could see.

she crept forward and Pounced!

The rabbit darted away quickly... long before she pounced and Batpaw did not have the energy or spirits to chase after the speedy little critter.

she walked back over to her friend. I think I agree with you even more now... back at camp I know this great hunting place. Its always a guaranteed catch where the prey never moves... she giggled a little winking The fresh kill pile! she said jokingly

she started walking but then it occurred to her... she had no idea where they were.... or where camp was.  This was her first time being out so far into their territory and she had not remembered exactly how they had gotten here with all the runs after prey and such.

She froze and looked at Daisypaw. Errm you know the way back right? she said hoping the older more experienced apprentice knew their position from her more time training. She glanced around at the unfamiliar land... it all looked the same... where had they even come from? She started to panic slightly uhhh please tell me we are not lost out here? she whimpered slightly she felt alot closer to a kitten right now than an apprentice... and she practically was, this was the day after her ceremony and she was fresh outta da nursery.

There was a long pause after she'd spoken. Did I say that too early...? Oh no! What if I've just ruined my chances with her? Daisypaw you lousy mouse-brain! She looks so shocked- Ugh Daisypaw you've messed up real good this time... The golden she-cat was about to apologize, unable to continue in silence. Fortunately, Batpaw only seemed to be at a loss for words and had come to. Daisypaw gave a happy little bounce when the apprentice told her that she was a friend. "Who knows... Maybe even more than just like?" Those last words made her be the one to stutter. "W-what?! N-no way. I haven't even met him before!" She gave the other she-cat a joking cuff on the ears, though gentle.

Suddenly she found herself in a hug. At first, she was surprised, but got over it and embraced Batpaw's hug. After being released, she caught a whiff of rabbit. Batpaw seemed to have spotted it as well!

Sadly, the hunt was building up to no success and the black cat returned dejected. Not dejected enough to stop her from cracking a joke though. Daisypaw gasped. "Really??? Where is it? How'd you find out about it? Wait the prey never moves...? How- Oh. You furball!! I actually believed you!" she meowed back before laughing along.

Then she noticed the sudden change of expression in Batpaw's face. "What's wrong?" It had never occured to her the distance they had wandered off. "Uhm- I'm... I'm pretty sure we came from that way...? We just... we... we could follow our scent trail back! We'll make it home." she added with all the confidence she could muster up. I hope...

Parting her jaws, she took in the scents around. Everything smells the same! Just rabbits and hares, snow... Her gaze searched desperately for anything that would point them in the right direction. Hills went on and on in the distance. No trees around either.

Batpaw watched as Daisypaw looked and smelled aroun. .... wait... did she not know where they were either???


Panic started rising in Batpaw as she looked around, the hills all looked the same and there was no landmarks anywhere that stood out.

Then Daisypaw spoke... she sounded confident surly her friend who had lots of training could get them home.... right??

A long silence passed as Daisypaw continued to look around and Batpaw was losing confidence that she actually knew where they were.

She tried to pick up on their scent trails... but with all the running around after prey they had done it was hard / impossible to tell exactly which way they had come from... this combined with being so new in the territory Batpaw began to panic even worse.

...how are we gonna get home? How long can we be out here before someone back home notices? will they come looking for us?... as a strong wind blew though the open land Batpaw began shivering...

They had been out for along time and it was bitter cold out. Batpaw had never before wished so much for the warmth of the nursery den or be able to cuddle up with her mother...

She shook her head Come on Batpaw! get a grip! Daisypaw is gonna think you are a total softie... You ARE a total softie... but try not to ruin this... she thought to herself panicking as she followed Daisypaw along trying to find their barring's


Another strong wind whipped over the hilly land cutting harshly through her fur ruffling it. She shivered more... how was Daisypaw not cold? maybe she was just hiding it alot better? Either way they needed to get back home soon...

She waited as long as she could without talking... but her anxiety and fear/nervousness of the situation made her speak up

Umm Daisypaw... b-b-bb ... be honest... Do you have any idea where we are? she meowed tears starting to form in her eyes.

ughh Batpaw dont you dare start crying! You are an apprentice now crying is for kittens... but she felt so much like a kitten .... she was just out of the nursery this was her first day of apprenticeship. she told herself angerly inside her head

but as they reached the top of the hill they were headed towards and looked out across the land that all looked the same and camp was no where in sight she lost it

not able to hold back the worry she started crying. Tears ran down her face, she tried to turn away from Daisypaw... Daisypaw should not have to deal with Batpaws breakdown she told herself.

Daisypaw sighed before turning to face Batpaw and confess. Wait. Where'd she go? Her black form was already streaking across the moor. "Batpaw wait!! We have to stick together!" she cried, running after her. Why was she running from her?

The heather seemed to fly by a familiar-looking ridge started to appear. Could Batpaw actually be running in the right direction?

"Batpaw-" she panted, "Slow down! I think I recognize this place..." Finally catching up to her, she was surprised to see her teary-eyed. "A-are you okay? You sure ran fast..." Concern welled up in her voice.

Suddenly her attention was focused on a nearby bush. It looked strangely familiar... "Isn't this... this is the gorse bush your first rabbit ran under! We're close!" She sniffed a bit of snow and found traces of their pawsteps. "I think we came from this way!" she meowed happily, following their scent trail.

At last, the scent of WindClan grew stronger and camp could be spotted. "I see it!!" Thank StarClan...

Batpaw walked next to her friend relived that they had found the way wheh that was too close Daisypaw. she giggled

hmm now hopefully no one noticed our absence she added on purring. She walked into camp with Daisypaw and looked around... hmm no one seemed alarmed that was good and no one seemed to notice the two apprentices slip back in through the entrance of camp.

hehehe we are the great escape artists she whispered to her friend.

She flicked her tail pointing at the fresh kill pile. Now watch I told you this was the best hunting place. she whispered as she got into a hunter crouch and slinked towards the pile... when she was close to it she pounced and grabbed a rabbit off the top biting into it.

Giggling she brought it over to Diasypaw and pushed it to her friend. Here eat you must be starving... you went on a double hunting patrol;.. and had to babysit me she winked at the last part as a joke.

She sat next to Daisypaw... I--... I am r-rreally glad we are... fr-f--- fri... she sighed... why was talking so hard for her she couldnt say anything right and it was so embarrassing.
