Spiderkit's Apprentice Ceremony

The day had been exhausting, and Dewlight longed to curl in her nest with her remaining kits and sleep... But first there was something that needed done. There would be one less kit to curl up with in the nursery, as another of her beloved kits joined the apprentices. It would be lonely, sure, but... Dewlight couldn't help but feel grateful that her kits were growing and healthy. It was a good thing, for them to do it. They needed to, someday.. The alternative was something she didn't want to think about. "RiverClan! Gather beneath Willow Branch."

With Bumblekit apprenticing spiderkit just definitely knows he's next! He ain't letting his brother beat him that easily~ Plus, he can continue annoying him in the apprentice den! The very thought makes him giggle as he also came out of the nursery and leapt his way over to the gathering excitedly. Sitting at the front and by no means hiding his anticipation for his Ma to call him out. A wide grin spread over the small taby's face as his tail flickers left and right with blooming excitement.

I wander who my mentor would be.

Spiderkit seemed to leap through the camp instead of walking, and Dewlight's tail tip flicked in amusement. Her kits were so full of energy... They would be a pawful for their mentors. Once the clan had gathered, she continued. "RiverClan, we're gathered here today to witness the naming of another new apprentice. Spiderkit, please step forward." She mewed, finding her son's face in the crowd once more and waiting for him to do as she had asked before continuing. "Spiderkit, you have reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From this day forward, until you earn your warrior name you will be known as Spiderpaw. Jayshriek will be your mentor." She mewed, finding the tom's face next. "He will train you in the ways of RiverClan warrior." She concluded, leaping from Willow Branch and waiting to congratulate her son once Jayshriek was done greeting his new apprentice.

The somber evening air, wreathed in stifling undercurrents of long-familiar tension and unease about what the next rising of the sun could possibly bring, was gently disrupted under the beguiling entrance of silky fur flourishing softly against soft earth, a faint grating sound resonating low and hot against the quiet backdrop of continuously weeping conversation. Smokey and smudged, nothing more than a dark wraith of gently feathered tufts and haloed night-rich fur, Jayshriek was quick and quiet in his ensuing steps forward- perpetual crease and rift billowing below the brow as he returned Dewlight's exhaustion shaded stare, honey and wine gaze alight with some unknowable tendrils of emotion.

Thrown to the ravenous currents of the Gorge immediately upon arrival, despite his precarious standing within the Clan in absence of his mother.

Dismissing the perilous tremor of distaste and long-simmering irritation perpetually seated within the lowest fathoms of his skull, Jayshriek drew to a halt before the newly-named Spiderpaw, a big dark blotch against the pale backdrop of the autumnal skies, looming above the pale bundle of fluff currently situated a pawstep or so away. The little tom standing before him, with all the grace and enthusiasm welcomed by such a trivial life-change, seemed raring and eager to be anywhere but here. Not entirely dissimilar to Moonpaw, all those seasons ago. "I look forward to training with you, Spiderpaw."

Spiderpaw eyes were shining brightly as he practically bounces over to greet his new mentor. "I look forward to training with you too!" He pipes up, as he come to touch nose he came a little forceful and bumped it rather, though the newly apprenticed cat eyes were still beeming with excitement and lightly twitching his nose. Excited, to eventually catch up with his brother.
