Faizah's Apprentice Ceremony

This will probably be the last ceremony I'll be doing for a while... Ebonysong thought as she stepped onto the Jagged Rock once again. Since the missing kits were now back, there were so many of them that had just recently joined ShadowClan. It still made her slightly upset that she could've hurt one of the missing kits accidentally during a skirmish. Shaking those thoughts out of her head, the dark gray deputy called out once more. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather before the Jagged Rock for a Clan meeting!" Then, she patiently waited for Faizah to arrive.

Faizah always felt a little awkward as she sat in the crowd for these meetings, and today was no different. It wasn't that the Clan cats didn't make her feel welcome, on the contrary, they seemed to encourage her participation in these things. But there was always that part of her that said she shouldn't be here. She was born into a group the cats hated, with a mother who had betrayed them all. And she had the scar on her shoulder broadcasting to every cat what she once was.

Looking up, she saw the cat she knew to be Ebonysong, the Clan deputy. The molly was a crucial part to the Clan, similar to Flintstar and Rookfire, so she was pretty easy to remember, alongside Batglow, Murkystrike, and Mistyfalcon. Aside from those cats, she had plenty to learn. Perhaps this ceremony would bring up some new faces to put names to.

At the sound of Ebonysong's call the lanky black tom stepped out of the warrior's den and out into the gathering crowd. Batglow's eyes scanned the crowd looking for Faizah among the group, before giving the she-cat an encouraging smile. He knew it was about time for her to accept an apprentice role in the clan, and he had a feeling that today was the day. He was curious as to what named the she-cat would get and who her mentor would be. For now he was just happy that things were moving forward.

As she saw Faizah gather beneath the Jagged Rock, along with a few other warriors in ShadowClan, Ebonysong continued her speech. “We are gathered here to witness another apprentice be named. Faizah, please step forward.” Pausing a bit to let Faizah step forward, Ebonysong gave the cat a small smile. “Faizah, it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you get your warrior name, you will be known as Rosepaw. Your mentor will be Batglow. I trust that he will pass on all his knowledge to you.”
