Silverpaw staggered over to the medicine cats. Her eyes widened in horror as she saw Ivystar, collapsed in a pool of her own blood. She tried to find the StarClan cats who had done it, but couldn't see through the blood dripping down from a cut on her forehead. She glanced around, trying to find Spiderquill, or any medicine cat, really.

"None of you know when to quit, do you?" Batbite asked, rolling off of her opponent at last now that they had company. "Even dying can't keep you down. It's actually kind of impressive - but while I do admire your tenacity, it's not going to save you now." She reared up on her hind legs, rising to her full - still rather short - height, and slashing wildly at the starlit stranger. Every frustrated thought, every idle wonder of whether their ancestors cared at all - she gave it her all, now, finally releasing a lifetime of tension built. "Welcome to the show, folks. Care to share your names?"
She grinned wickedly, caught up in the adrenaline of the fight enough that little concerned her now. "Mine's Batbite." She turned back to the so-called Righteous One, fixing him with a chilling stare. "You think yourself a judge and an executioner. Seems like fun, really! So why don't we switch up the roles? Really, I think it's about time someone passed judgment on you."
She glanced back at her current teammates once again, that wicked grin still in place. "It's showtime. Let's give 'em one they'll never forget, yeah?"
Batbite used Rear-Up to Slash on Stembreeze, dealing 11 damage and costing 9 SP.

"Ack!" Beepaw gasped as Aspenleaf smashed his head to the ground, dizzying him with such force that he had to shut his eyes as the pain ebbed. It was almost more than he could take... He vaguely heard the names of his allies. Ebonypaw. Nightwolf. "It's not a bad time!" he grumbled. "I gotta remember so I know who to thank when this is over!" He lifted himself to his paws, stumbling a bit, before yowling and bowling Aspenleaf over, raking his claws down the she-cat's belly. A last-ditch effort. He felt very suddenly ill and woozy...

Had time gone fast or slow? In the streak of it all, she didn't really know anymore.
It was an ember, then a flame. Until a nauseating crunch fueled it all into an inferno.
Chaos.
Vixenstar's face looked so taunting. Sly, contemptuous. It infuriated her. Was the fury was she felt so paralysed?
As cats everywhere, entered the affray, a nebulous blur ensued. It all collapsed into discord.
And she couldn't lift a claw.
Was it sagacity, or good judgement?
Knowing Vixenpaw, it was neither.
It was fear.
They were riven. Severed into divisions, of distinct sides: good and bad.
...
But yet, deceit was a potent tool. The flair of deception; conniving treachery.
...
The rules could bend a bit here, couldn't they?
...
Convulsing. Snapped into reality, barely kept in balance, the cry awakened her.
Willowpaw. "Mossbloom! Rainstrike, Minkstream!"
She saw.
Minstream, engaged with the star-dusted silhouette of the foxy tyrant. Until Rainstrike abruptly heaved him, towing him disgracefully away by a powerful jerk of his tail.
Vixenpaw hadn't perceived Rainstrike's taunting menace over the roars. But she also hadn't heard of her whispers of haunting ingenuity.
From the vague wisps of what she had managed to observe, this meant civil war.
"You're not really..."
Obscurity. Enigma. Guile. Had it all been fake? She wouldn't be surprised...
"YOU TRAITOROUS..."
Maybe, it was the ceaseless suspicions since the day of her mother's demise. Maybe, it was pure insanity. Irrationality trapping her mind. Maybe, it was a hallucination, conjured from anguish; locked, entwined.
But these were not the insecurities of which she would be defined.
...
This wasn't the Righteous Few. She had nothing to be scared of, now.
This was a mortal traitor.
The shrill whistle fizzed in her throat. Like the dissonance of a blaring siren, a strident screech splintered the skies.
"DON'T TOUCH HIM, YOUSNAKE-TONGUEDRAT!"
Vixenpaw hassomehow what this is impossible she's showing self-restraint??refrained from attacking... for now.

Ashpaw's small body crouched down into the most skilled battle stance he could manage, the long-haired gray tom dashed away from his opponent and watched as Silverpaw was forced to flee, worry for his clanmate briefly overcoming his thoughts. However, if she was able to stand she could most likely run, and him hesitating would do nothing for her sake. Vivid eyes shining in the blue moonlight, Ashpaw's intentions were pure and clear, and the tom's voice rang out sharply like the clang of two stones. "We will never bow to you!" Claws churned soil, as jaws prepared to strike...but with one cry it all came to a halt. Everything.
"MOM!
That's Spiderquill's voice...
With a sharp intake of breath, Ashpaw forgot about the ghost standing in front of him. The writhing crowds slowly became nothing more than muffled noise and blurred movements; they were colorless and dull, all except a select few. His most beloved ones. Morningpaw, bleeding out into the earth from her many wounds, even though she had promised to stay alive. Honeytongue beside him, her beautiful face marred by a sight so horrible he shuddered. Stormbringer, enraged beyond anything he had ever seen, shaking the life out of a bloodstained golden ghost.
And Ivystar, lying dead on the ground.
Like being dunked in freezing water, Ashpaw's whole body went numb; the only feeling left was the stabbing agony in his chest. No...I'm just seeing things. Has the Righteous Few cast a curse on us, one that makes us see our worst nightmares? It had to be a trick, an illusion...there was no way she could die, not like this. Then again, he had said the same for his parents; 'They can't die like this, they can't die like they never mattered!' As the seconds ticked by, Ashpaw stood still and waited, holding his breath, refusing to breathe until his truth became reality. Blood spilled from her grossly exposed throat, racing across the grass and sweeping over him like a violent wave. It was dark, rancid, and hopeless, his lungs suffocatingly stiff. One second...two seconds...three seconds...but he knew time betrays.
No...Ivystar, reach for my paw! We'll soar away from here, back to camp, back to the safe dens with their warm nests and fresh prey. Back to those peaceful days, when I was surrounded by joy and comfort for the first time in moons. Back to where we smiled...when I was finally me! His forepaw reached out as slowly as the cats around him moved in their stupor, toes with sheathed claws extending as far as they could go. His eyes stung. Maybe, the stars will vanish at dawn. All of this will leave, and we'll only be left with the happy memories that made our lives perfect, sublime. At the edge of dawn, you can stay here! Keep cruel fate at bay...please don't make me chase your shadow!
Please...please don't leave me!!
The world returned to normal, fast-paced and torturous as it was, and Ashpaw let go of the lie he was holding on to, and it slipped away through his paws like sand. "No...someone help her! Please, someone, save her!! Mom...MOM!" Rain was falling, he could see marks of water on the ground and feel it on his face...but the clouds above weren't a storm. He didn't make any sound as he cried, and he couldn't control the flow; it was a release, recognition of the truth, that his desperate pleas had faded away into nothing but air. This was life's true cost...it left scars you can't erase and took away love like pulling your paw back from a cat on the edge of a cliff.
However, his paw was still reaching.
How he longed to abandon the meaningless victory in front of him and join Stormbringer, obeying the call of revenge and senselessness, sinking his claws and fangs into the demon who had stolen away the cat who had given him a second chance. He knew though that, despite his weak contributions, he couldn't leave Honeytongue alone. He wouldn't lose another mother tonight. In his mind, he was still reaching out towards Ivystar, but as he placed his paw down and turned to face Larchneedle, he felt calm. A cold breeze had dissuaded his thoughts, leaving only certainty, and carrying him away into the depths of an anger he had never felt before. It glowed in his eyes, face contracting and brows scrunching in an expression of pure, concentrated hatred. He was terrifying...and he accepted it.
"Ivystar's blood...is on your paws."
In a flash, Ashpaw slashed his claws at the ghost's throat with all his power. He knew he couldn't break through to the veins beneath, but it wasn't futile. Deep bloody trails were left in the wake of his attack, and as he came back to earth he yowled victory. He would win. He would stay alive. He would avenge them, all those who had died to the stars. How?
Because they had no hold on him...and they never will.

All the wails grated against Brackenstar’s ears. The singular crunch that seemed to finally bring silence was met with satisfaction that rose from his chest. Finally. The little rebel was put down. Now all the others should fall shortly. Except… the wails got louder. His ears flattened with a grimace, green eyes glinted sharply in the light. This entire forest was foolish. Their legacy had all turned into fur-brained fools as he watched the cats surge forward.
Most notably to him, was Flintstar who leapt from the Greatrock with Ravenmist on his heels. He grunted as he was slammed into with force. Followed behind them were two little apprentices. Honestly, the whole of ShadowClan… so corrupted. It made him a little sick. He snarled, ducked and weaved from the haphazard blows of apprentices to stare at the tom who had just smacked him hard on the head. The blood that spilled from his own pelt didn’t matter.
This insurrection however, that was another story. He growled, low and ominous as he lunged for Flintstar. The tom’s dark fluffy body pinned beneath the scarred bulk of Brackenstar as he glared down without pity at his victim. “It’s a shame I trusted you. I suppose this is what I get. The kin of one who broke our sacred code so wretchedly… it makes sense that this would be the result.” He growled, glared at Ravenmist and the apprentices around him. “HEAR ME NOW SHADOWCLAN! HERE IS YOUR FINAL JUDGEMENT!” His yowl echoed through the clearing, pelt bristled as he lunged forward. Teeth sinking deep into Flintstar’s throat and clamped down.
The other cats around him hardly mattered as he lifted his large head to swing Flintstar’s body into Ravenmist. Green eyes livid with rage as he turned to glare at the apprentices who struck him. “His body won’t be the only one this battle.” He warned ominously, as he stalked forward towards Smokepaw.

In the rush of combat, Flintstar's gaze barely tore away from Brackenstar even as other pelts surrounded the duo. He tasted the air quickly, trying to figure out if the new arrivals were friends or foes...And it didn't take long to recongize it as the smell of his deputy and two of his younger siblings. He sighed, relieved at their presence as they all worked to wear down the deceased leader. His ear twitched as he felt a rush of movement, gaze locking onto Brackenstar as the tom ducked...And then lunged toward him, claws ramming into his shoulder as he was knocked from his paws.
Flintstar huffed in surprise as he hit the ground hard, feeling the weight of the large StarClan tom fall upon him. There were very few cats that could beat the ShadowClan leader in a battle of strength...And he slowly realized that the large StarClan cat was one of them. His paws scrambled for some sort of leverage as he stared up at his foe, trying to find some sort of leverage he could use to dislodge Brackenstar but as his heartbeat pounded in his ears, he realized he had made a grave error. Fear, the dreaded emotion, worked its way up into the leader's throat as he turned his gaze upon the StarClan cat that loomed above him.
So this was it. He had been unperpared for such a battle, his ears slicking back at the sound of yowls and cries. It hurt, it hurt so much as he struggled to drown them out. But his attention shifted from one to another and he coud feel the pounding increase as fear took ahold of him. The snippits of the voices that he heard were so brief, unable to tell if any were of cats he knew - of cats crying out for what was about to happen. There was no reason to deny it - he was pinned and he couldn't shove off Brackenstar. He knew the gleam in the twisted leader's eyes - it had been the same gleam that he had so foolishly dismissed before Thornstar's death.
...There was no reason not to admit that the hour of his death had arrived. His breath quickened for a second...Before it slowed and an odd wave of calmness suddenly flooded over him, resigned to his fate. ...So be it. He was not going to go out like a mewing kit - Finchstar had accepted his death with grace. He would do the same. He thought back, wondering if this same feeling was what Thornstar had felt when she had been struck down. Accepting her fate and proud of her actions. Flintstar did not regret attacking Brackenstar...Not for a moment. The cat's ideals were twisted - sickening. His siblings, Redwolf...Freckleface. They were fine ShadowClan cats. Proud ones - they were loyal and skilled. That was not lessened by their blood, their orgins. With a huff, almost a laugh, he raised his head as he met Brackenstar's cold gaze.
"For ShadowClan," he spat with blood, a soft rare grin pulling at his lips as the twisted leader called out for the cats to hear. He was not dying for Brackenstar's twisted vision - he was dying to protect his own. He did not know what the future held for any of his Clanmates, who would win this battle for their voice... But he could at least be certain that he had died on the right side. The Stars had welcomed Thornstar with open paws, he had seen it himself... So he could at least expect the same of him. He would be one with the sky. Then, fangs pieced his throat. His eyes widen as blood gurgled from the wound, the pain immense but he didn't once yowl. Instead he held his tongue, wanting to give Brackenstar no statfication.
As he felt his strength start to ebb away, a single thought entered his mind. He had been selfish. He had only thought of what his death would mean for him - not to those he would be leaving. How this would hurt them in the way he had been trying to spare himself from. Suddenly, there was regret as he tried to glance around for his family but his vision was growing dark and the shapes of battling cats were blurring together, unable to tell any apart - even the sky was dark and black. Two words was caught in his throat, as he felt the last of his energy drain away with the blood.
"I'm sorry...' he tried to wheeze to any who could hear, but the air never left his lungs. Instead, the light faded from his eyes as he fully crumbled... And the ShadowClan leader was left unmoving in the field of war.
After all, all things must die.
Its time to accept to abide Admit that the hour's arrived Resign, comply Its time to be one the sky Surrender your pride Let death be your guide All things must die.
Just close your eyes Don't fear demise Black out the sky All things must die.

Aspenleaf was clawed, scratched, and attacked from all sides by clan cats who opposed the Righteous few's ideas. Redpaw stared at Swansong, frozen in place. He took a few deep breaths in, and out, until he saw Ivystar's body. Paralysis struck him. He wanted to move, to obey Spottedstar- but he finally had a chance to protect Swansong. He glanced back at the receding pelts of SkyClan as he realized he was about to disobey his Clan leader. But what could he do? Let everyone who had stayed here just die? No, he would not be the cat who followed orders blindly. His maw curled into a sneer as he glared at Lavenderbreeze. She had killed Morningpaw, took joy in it, even. If she did the same to Swansong- he couldn't let that happen, it'd be on his conscious forever. He glanced at the rest of SkyClan with pain and dismay in his eyes, but he leapt towards the fray. Lavenderbreeze already had enough cats on her, and he was hopeful Swansong wouldn't get hurt. He saw an apprentice being swatted down by yet another star-filled cat, and ran straight into her, grunting. "You fox-hearted little snakes," he muttered as he slammed into her. "I may be SkyClan but that doesn't mean I'm a coward," he spat.

Ravenmist fell aside, hit by a large mass, but a limp one. Who had fallen? Her ears turned on Brackenstar, awaiting his next move, as her nose confirmed her fears. Flintstar... Flintstar had fallen. Surely he had more lives left. Surely he would get up...
"Mothglow!" She yowled as loudly as she could, praying her younger sister would hear her above the fray. But Brackenstar's paws shifted, padding towards Smokepaw. His body won't be the last. Ravenmist snarled, hurling herself back at Brackenstar. "Don't lay a single one of your filthy claws on my apprentice!"

The naked-faced medicine cat squealed, and Larchneedle whipped his head as he drew back from the fleeing Silverpaw to see the RiverClan leader dead in his peer's jaws and unceremoniously dropped. Larchneedle thought sneeringly, Trust a cowardly self-interested SkyClan cat to take the easy way. He turned back, pleased to see the looks of horror and devastation on the faces of Honeytongue and Ashpaw. He panted slightly, relishing in their suffering and horror and taking the reprieve to bolster his strength. Larchneedle was not the wisest tom, though; he was caught off guard when Honeytongue's grief turned to rage, and when she turned to rocket at him like a bolt of lightning he felt his breath leave him in a whoosh. He dug his claws in to try to steady himself, and immediately he was assailed by a flurry of raking claws. Trying to shield his head and face as best as he could, he spat tauntingly, "And you should have been content to be nothin' but miserable and alone!"
Larchneedle found an opening to duck out from underneath Honeytongue's raging blows and took the chance, but he drew out directly into the freshly-grieving Ashpaw's slashing claws. He spat with pain and alarm as he felt the apprentice cut through the thick fur of his neck and tear at his flesh dangerously close to his neck. He scrabbled backward desperately, clear disturbance in his green eyes at the close call; however, he was only angered further, and he snarled, "There's more than just hers!" The red tom ducked and then surged forward, nimbly dodging the apprentice's aggressive flailing to bite down onto his tail. Larchneedle pulled roughly, hauling Ashpaw backwards off his paws, and immediately whirled back to Honeytongue with a menacing glare. "Would you like to lose someone else?" He flexed his claws, tail lashing.
Larchneedle used Tail Yank on Ashpaw, using 10 stamina and dealing 11 (9 +2 Night Finesse) damage.Ashpaw is stunned for one turn.

Honeytongue actually laughed as the tom tried to bring her down with his words, grinning as she turned to look at him. "That's just it," she murmured, shaking her head as a giggle escaped her - perhaps a little delicious from the anger that coursed through her body. "I was miserable and alone...And this...This hurts, but it was worth it. It was worth it for the beautiful days I spent with Ivystar. I'm still loved. But you? Nobody is going to miss you when your gone," she added with a spit. Her eyes however widen as he knocked Ashpaw down and threatened her son. Her eyes narrowed, a growl rising in her throat. "This is where you're gonna die." With a yowl, she reared upwards and brought her paws down straight onto the tom's head as hard as she could. "Ashpaw, do not be afraid to run!" she yowled, staring at her son. "I can handle this spawn of treachery, don't worry about me!"

Beepaw growled as his head hit the ground - again - activating a new wave of nausea and head pain. Stars clouded his vision as he rolled over, defeated, and tried to get up. He squinted, hunting for Mossbloom or Daisybloom, and elected to begin crawling in the direction of the clearing's edge. He would thank Nightwolf and Ebonypaw later... when his head didn't hurt so bad.
Beepaw has fled!
Hiding in the undergrowth of the southeast edge of the clearing, Beepaw put his head on his paws and began to cry. Not for embarrassment, not for pain, but for the fate of his clan. Flintstar had fallen. Ivystar, too. What were they going to do to Oakstar? He couldn't help anymore. He was too busted. Beepaw curled up and dug his claws into his paw, fighting the tears back. "Pleasedon'tdiepleasedon'tdie!" he whispered. "You have to win! Please win! Pleasepleaseplease!"
