Edge of a Feather [Closed]

Ploverpuddle walked along the moor, heading for some trees that marked the edge of their territory. He along with Olivestone, were tasked with chasing off an eagle that had tried to claim a bit of the territory for itself. It was aggressive with any cat that came by, making it a great risk for the apprentices especially newer ones. He didn't like predators lurking around Windclan especially after the whole incident with the rogues, so the sooner predators were gone from their territory the better.

As the two cats approached the spot, Ploverpuddle couldn't tell where the eagle was but it wouldn't be long before they found it or it found them. Either way they had a job to accomplish here. He turned to the warrior that was on the patrol with him. "Are you ready?" He asked her in a softer tone, knowing any moment now they would be locked in a battle.

Olivestone followed Ploverpuddle out of camp, padding alongside the older warrior was he led the way to a reported sighting of an eagle. The eagle was attempting to stake a piece of WindClan territory for its own, and the Clan wasn't having that. As the pair slowed to a stop where the eagle was residing, she heard the older warrior ask her if she was ready.
She nodded and responded, "Ready."

It didn't take long but instead of them finding the eagle the eagle found them. It was in the sky hunting for its next meal when it saw the cats step into what it consider it owned. With a loud Screech and swooped down to the two cats, going for the large one first.

Eagle used Swoop dealing -30 damage, -20 SP

As soon as Ploverpuddle heard the screech of he incoming predator he braced himself hoping for himself to be the target instead of the younger warrior. As soon as he felt the talons digging wounds into his back, he forced himself into action knowing he had to strike as soon as possible and keep it to the ground. The large gray warrior lashed out with both of his front paws before quickly slamming the bird to the ground again with a swift strike.

The screech of the eagle soon alerted Olivestone to its presence, and she looked up to see it plunge down, sinking its talons into Ploverpuddle's back. The older warrior retaliated quickly, and once Ploverpuddle had the eagle grounded, she leaped into action. Following his lead, she darted in, raked her claws down the eagle's feathered face, then gave it another good smack upside the head.

Olivestone used Upright Front Paws and Swift strike, dealing 15 damage, and costing 30 stamina.

The eagle didn't appreciate staying close to the ground but the blows from the cats didn't allow it to get to far into the air without getting pulled back down. The creature let out another screech before swiping at the large gray tom again.

Ploverpuddle recoiled for a moment as the talons dug in to his chest. A sharp hiss escaping him at the pain, though he didn't mind taking the damage as long as his clan was safe. He would do anything for his clan. The gray warrior quickly reared up on his hind legs before smashing the bird into the ground once again to keep it from escaping their reach.

Olivestone neatly dodged around the flailing wings of the eagle as it tried in vain to get airborne again, and she leaped on top of it, digging her claws in to get a good grip. When she got her footing, she reared up, and slashed down onto the back of the eagle's neck, and soon, it stopped struggling underneath her.

Olivestone used Rear-Up to Slash, dealing 11 damage and costing 15 stamina. The eagle is dead.

Ploverpuddle watched as his companion finished off the eagle. His breathing was heavy but he was relieved. A dead eagle couldn't return. "Good Job Olivestone. This should feed the queens and elders for sure." They had accomplished what they were sent out to do and he was happy about that, and they could go back now. Well they needed to considering the wounds from the fight that he had sustained. "Let us get back."
