It feels as if Vines are holding us while we get pricked by Nettles and fed Ash by a Breeze

A shimmer of moonlight was the only thing allowing her to see her kits. She named them all how she felt, a Vine holding her in place while she got pricked by a Nettle and a Breeze was only picking up and feeding her Ash. It wasn't like she hated them, she loved every single one, they had older siblings who she knew would love them just as much as she did. She nuzzled little grey Vinekit, whispering his name into his little kit ear. Before licking the dark grey head of Breezekit and then moved onto her little calicos, Ashkit and Nettlekit, whispering all their names one by one. She curled her fluffy tail around them, attempting to keep them warm in the cold night. "All of you are beautiful, I hope you have a good kithood, all of you. Despite.." She trailed off, her yellow eyes gleaming before nuzzling Darkstorm. "No, our babies, our second litter, everything's going to be okay..." "Of course! Shadestrike, why wouldn't it be?" Shadestrike's mate slumped down next to her and she let a purr escape her mouth.

Inside his mother's warm embrace, Breezekit squiggled around, already with a fighting spirit. His eyes were closed, but he felt the presence of his mother, and drew to it like a moth to a flame. He buried deeper into her fur, comfortable, but wide awake. He let out a small mew to show it.

The small, grey tom would lay quietly. It seemed he was awake, only not wanting to be near his siblings.

Ashkit wailed when she left the safe warm haven where she had resided in. It was cold outside, but she felt comforted instantly when she felt something fluffy wrap around her body. Snuggling close to her mother, Ashkit squeaked and wriggled around when she didn't feel comfortable enough. Pawing stuff (her siblings?) out of her space until she didn't feel like suffocating, Ashkit snoozed, tired after her little show of strength.
