Just a Bunch of Fishers[CLOSED]

Clearly outnumbered, the eagle had no way out against the three Riverclan cats. In the middle of the chaos between Adderpaw and Dappleshine's attacks, the tom finally rolled over on his paws once again and slashed the bird's chest, tearing the belly and neck's skin apart. With so many wounds, the eagle tried to move its wings to escape but failed miserably and just fell on the water, lifeless.

Jaystar stepped back, adrenaline still too high for him to notice the bleeding wounds. His silvery fur was tainted with crimson red and the water in his paws was slowly taking a pink-red colour as well. He looked back but not to check over the warrior and apprentice. He already knew they were fine and safe. After all, they both knew how to fight and that's why he was left with just a few scratches and no major scars. Instead, his green eyes looked for his granddaughter, who was waiting for them to end the eagle. A sigh of relief escaped from his mouth when he saw her. Training to be a medicine cat was a great honour but it came with the cost of not knowing quite well how to defend herself.

The large tom now fixed his eyes on Dappleshine and Adderpaw and he smiled to both of them. "Thank you... both of you. You fought bravely today and this eagle will serve as prey for many cats. We should bring it back to camp before another predator decides to take our kill." He mewed thinking of foxes and dogs.

Jaystar used Half-Turn Belly Rake, dealing 17 damage and costing 20 stamina. Eagle is out of combat.

Dappleshine's fur began to lie flat once again as the bird finally stopped it's last thrashes, and lay still in the water as it chased itself downstream. Her breathing began to slow, and she turned to Jaystar as he spoke, and nodded in agreement, a small smile at the thought of taking something like that to camp. "Of course, Jaystar. Adderpaw, do you want to grab the fish? I can carry this, we'll take some of the feather for you to line your nest with." She smiled at the apprentice, grateful that he hadn't seemed to be harmed during the fight. Reaching forward, she touched her nose to the top of his head. "You're a natural, you fought well today. Good job." Turning back to the bird, she heaved it onto her back, the water streaming from it's feathers and into her fur as she hoisted it carefully to lay steady. Maybe this would be the excuse to get Magpiepaw to talk to her again... Her spirits lifted at the thought, and she began to head back to camp with the rest of the group with slightly lighter paws between the praise from her leader and the thought of a reconciliation with her best friend.

Adderpaw nodded gratefully at the other cats. "Thank you," he said quietly, and added in, "and sure, I'll grab the fish!".

As he went to collect the other prey, he let himself sink into a moment of happiness. The fight had gone relatively well, he had successfully caught his first piece of prey, and he'd received praise from both a warrior and his leader. But it wasn't long before some of the anxious thoughts the battle had begun to stir returned to him. The fight really had gone well, all things considered...but he still felt so deeply unprepared for the dangers around him. He didn't like situations where the solution required trusting others would do the right thing...and he knew if he had been alone, things would not have gone anywhere near as well as they did.

Well, that's only natural he thought to himself, everyone benefits from help in situations like these. You can rely on others. You did today, and it turned out alright.

And he believed that, he really did. At least a part of him did. But the worries remained.

After what felt like ages, the eagle finally collapsed with a mighty splash and fell still. She released the breath she hadn't realized she was holding and stepped out of the bushes, a proud smile on her face. However, that smile quickly fell when she noticed the many bleeding scratches that adorned Jaystar's frame. That wouldn't do. She looked around for something that could stop bleeding..at least, until they got back to camp and he could properly be treated. It started with a c..what was it again? Her eyes landed on some webs hanging off the branch of a tree and it jogged her memory: cobwebs!

Mistlepaw bounded towards it and scooped some up in her paws, before making her way towards her leader. "Here, let me help," The gray and white tuxedo meowed as she pressed it onto his wounds. It wasn't much, but it would do for now.

Mistlepaw used Minor Heal on Jaystar, costing 10 stamina. Jaystar regains 3 health.
