Blubbly Moss Ball

Cloudkit rolled out of his nest, this wasn't the first day outside so he already had something very clear on his mind... Playtime! What else could a kit be doing on this fine morning other than play a good game of moss ball or play pounce with another feline's tail. The only thing left to do was find a nice playmate to pester!

Salmonpaw was casually doping around the camp, playing with a leaf casually. The apprentice was well over kit age, but hasn't really grown out of it... With a small murr, Salmonpaw spotted a kit and bounded up to them. "Hey there!' he called happily, and rather loudly.

Cloudkit opened his eyes wide and a purr immediately erupted from his throat. "Hi! I'm Cloudkit! I really like your fur." He complimented, the kitten's tail rising straight up in the air as he felt safe and happy around other clanmates since he remembered his queen telling him that the rest of the clan was nothing to worry about. He can relax here and that's exactly what he wanted to do. "Do you want to play a game?"

The calico tom had been picking absentmindedly at a small piece of prey when the sounds of younger cats nearby caused his ear to twitch. For a moment, he simply gazed over the pair. One of the apprentices he recognized as Salmonpaw, and a young kit whose name he had yet to learn. Burntstag prided himself in knowing the names of all his clanmates and making an effort to get to know them. These were the cats he was destined to save and he genuinely cared for each being whose paws traipsed this camp. His eyes half closed for a moment as he allowed his mind to indulged in the fantastical future that had long-developed. In such a peaceful and pure moment, the tom could almost taste it on his tongue. A soft and contented hum left his maw moments before he rose up onto his paws and closed the distance between them. Cocking his head to the younger of the two, after offering Salmonpaw a nod of greeting, he asked, "May I join your game? A warrior needs moments of rest at times." The idea of rest had seemingly eluded his over-active mind for many moons, but helpless in doing anything to support his cause in the moment, and having found some value in it with age, the tom smiled at his own words.

"I'd love to play a game! And thank you, I love your pelt too!" Salmpnpaw perked, glancing around camp for an idea. He was the apprentice after all, he should lead the kitten into fun times. Salmonpaw jumped as Burntstag approached. The older tom was much bigger of course, and made Salmonpaw a little nervous. Shoving that to the side, Salmonpaw nodded. "Of course you can join us." He shifted to the side, allowing the tom to take a stance closer to the kit.

Cloudpaw's eyes grew wide as he seen the fluffy warrior take approach to the two, the warior's pelt flowed gently through the gentle wind and he watched silent for a few couple moments. "I really want to play mossball! But I don't have a ball; Can we visit the elder's den and barrow some? Or the warriors?" He asked with excitement, of course every other den was way more exciting than the one he felt like he was forced to stay in. "Oh also, nice to meet you warrior!" He turned his attention back to the tom, taking a few steps forward. He ran his small body against the newcomer in greeting.

Hearing the bustle of commotion, Mudkit scrambled her way out of the nursery. If she wasn’t mistaken, she was roused from her nap from the mention of ‘play’ing.
“Playing? What are you guys playing?” She pestered adamantly, bouncing up beside the other kit.

Marshkit was sitting near the nursery, absent minded-ly batting around a little leaf by himself, not really thinking about anything in particular. He rolled over and kicked at the little bits of the leaf, then just sat there for a moment, already growing bored. He sat up, looking around for something to do.

"...playing?" he heard someone say nearby. He immediately perked up his ears and looked over in the direction of the voice, seeing the group of other cats. He got up and quickly trotted over.

"Hey there!" he said cheerfully, flicking his tail. "What's going on?"

Salmonpaw flicked his tail to the kit. "Of course, I'm sure the elders wouldn't mind!" The grey apprentice turned to the other kits gaining. "We are going to play mossball! want to join?" Salmonpaw suddenly felt important to these kits.

”Of course I wanna join! You’ll play too, right Marshkit?” Mudkit piped up, looking to Marshkit excitedly.

Marshkit nodded happily in response to Mudkit's question.

"Yeah, definitely! I'd love to play!" he chirped, hopping up and down slightly in excitement.
