A Mentor And A His Apprentice [Closed Training Topic]

Wildstrike poked his head into the apprentice den and looked around for his apprentice Frostpaw. "Frostpaw? It's time to train" he meowed and then walked over to the camp entrance.
He sat down and waited for his apprentice to appear.

Frostpaw was sound asleep when his ears heard his mentor call for him. They twitched, and he quickly opened his eyes. He'd blink the sleep from them, and give his long fur a few licks. He then proceeded to fly out of the apprentices den over to the camp entrance. Frostpaw was excited, he'd finally get to train to become a warrior.

Wildstrike smiled brightly at his apprentice as he saw him dashing across camp.
He got up "Let's go then!" he meowed happly and started walking out of camp towards the Deep Marshes "I thought we could start with some hunting and then end it with some battle training"

Frostpaw was even more excited now. Two different types of training! He'd quickly pad after his mentor, not wanting to get too far behind. "Okay!" He'd reply quickly, allowing the excitement to be on display. The rising sun began to show through the dense pine trees as they walked. Frostpaw enjoyed the early morning sun, not too hot, but not too cold either. The new smells of the pine forest were invigorating. He'd flick his tail in amusement, he didn't know how excited he would get over this. Most apprentices were though, so logically he would too.

Wildstrike stopped and looked around "This is the deep marshes where we'll start our training. There's alot of frogs and toads here who's not as fast as rodents, so they're a good first prey" he told his apprentice.
"Now, let's start of by seeing you'r hunting crouch" he continued with a smile.

Frostpaw happily obliged to his mentor. He quickly crouched down as well as he could into what he thought was the hunting crouch. At least this is what he used to hunt moss balls back in camp. He was ready to learn though. Frostpaw did attempt to put things together he had seen from other apprentices back in camp. Body low to the ground. That was it, that was his best. He wondered if his mentor thought it was good. It probably wasn't, he had no idea how to. At least he was trying though.

He got out of the crouch and waited for his mentor to show him the actual hunting crouch. Frostpaw was enjoying this time out of camp, though he didn't quite like the deep marshes. Lots of mud and muddy water, and it made his pure white fur turn a muddy brown. Too much mud for his taste. Despite the fact he was muddy he enjoyed everything else. He had caught whiffs of other scents though. Based on how bad they were he assumed they were probably other clan scents. He brought himself back to reality, flicking the tip of his tail.

Wildstrike looked at the apprentice for awhile and nodded slightly "That's great for you're first time, just bring you're tail down more, it should almost touch the ground and you're head should also be further down nut not as low as you're tail" he meowed and smiled slightly.

"Like this" he got into a crouch too "And then you stalk forward towards you'r prey, but you have to be really quiet or else the prey will hear you" he continued and then started creeping forward to show Frostpaw.

Frostpaw would quickly imitate the posture of his mentor. He was determined to get this right. The faster he learned the faster he would become a warrior. He stalked forward and narrowed his eyes. He was getting the hang of this. He flicked his ears, he wanted to go hunt now. He wanted to see just how fast he could learn. A slight breeze ruffled his fur, and he licked it real quick. He couldn't wait to learn more.

Wildstrike nodded as he got into a normal stand "That's great! You're a quick learner Frostpaw" he smiled "Now, can you smell any prey? If not try harder and then etry catching it" he meowed and looked at his apprentice.

Frostpaw would quickly stick his nose in the air, smelling the faint breeze that had been blowing through the marshes. He'd try to discern tree scents and mud scents from prey scents. After a little while of smelling, he finally smelled what he thought was a frog. He lowered himself into the hunting crouch his mentor had just taught him and began to stalk forward.

He was within pouncing range after a little while of stalking the frog. He had taken care not to step on any sticks. He had been surprisingly stealthy based on his white fur. He quickly used his back legs to push off, jumping into the air. He came down right on top of the frog. He quickly dispatched the frog by biting it, and picked it up. He bounded back to his mentor with pride in his eyes. He had caught something!

Wildstrike who had been watching further away smiled in pride, his apprentice had already caught his first prey and on his first try!
"That was super good, to be honest it took me a couple of trys before I caugth my first prey. You'll be a warrior in no time" he purred gladly.
He sat down infront of Frostpaw "Do you wanna hunt some more or do you wanna get to the battle training?" he asked.

"Bwattle twaining!" The tom meowed this with excitement in his voice, although he still had the frog in his mouth. The more he learned now to more practice he could do. If he didn't have to learn then they could focus on technique. He dropped his frog and buried it quickly. He flicked his tail in excitement as well. He always wanted to know how to really fight.

He laughed "Alrighty but first you can put the frog down haha and second make sure to keep you'r claws sheated, this is only a training session".
He waited for Frostpaw to drop the frog before he continued.

"Now, let's start easy" he meowed and striked gently at Frostpaw's side with his large frontpaw "You can strike at other cats pretty much everywhere with you'r frontpaw, altought it doesn't have as big effect on a opponent as some other moves but it sure isa the easiest one" he told him. He then back up a little bit and ran towards Frostpaw as he where gonna knock him to the ground but stopped in the last second "You're suppose to knock you'r opponent to the ground with this move, so you charge at them and then knock them to the ground. This move is even more effective if the opponent isn't focused at you as it will chatch them of
guard. Now I want you to charge at me and try knocking me down and then strike at me with a sheated frontpaw, don't hold back when trying to knock me down, I'm larger than you so it will be automatically harder for you to knock me down" he told him and smiled.

OOC: Its not really worth it to use the battle system unless you want to

Frostpaw pondered what he was going to do for a moment. He wanted to knock his mentor over but he wasnt sure he actually could. He was going to try his hardest of course, he wanted to be a good fighter. He couched down, and bounded towards his mentor. He pounced on Wildstrike, making him lose his balance. He then quickly swiped at him with his sheathed paw. It didn't do much, but it was a start.
