Hollykit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" His voice rang clearly throughout the camp. The scratches from the battle had begun healing, some having scarred on his nose and face. More battle scars to show his readiness to fight for the clan he supposed. Hollykit was another of Scorchstar's children, who seemed pretty attentive. He was sure she'd make a good apprentice.

A well groomed Hollykit emerged from the nursery. Her long, black and white fur had been licked into place by her mother, Minnowcall, much to Hollykit's protest. Why do I need to look nice for the ceremony? I'll still be apprenticed either way! The young kit had wailed. But Minnowcall had been persistent and now Scorchstar's daughter stood below the Jaggedrock amongst her clanmates, tail twitching irritably.

Hollykit cocked her head and watched Froststone, the Shadowclan deputy with curiosity, perched on the Jaggedrock. She hadn't seen much of the cat before and wondered what he could possibly be like. From what the kit understood, he was recently appointed deputy not all that long ago. The white tom had a long scar that ran down his face, Hollykit could deduct from this that Froststone was well liked. In this clan of brutes she lived in, a scar could get you some honor points with your clanmates. Quite silly if you were to ask Hollykit. She watched the tom, green gaze cool with the slightest flick of anticipation. Hollykit would be lying if she said she wasn't excited about becoming an apprentice.

(OOC: On account Wolven is currently unavailable to keep up with deputy tasks at the moment, I will take over this ceremony, so just pretend Scorchstar was there all along. ;D)

"Hollykit, step forward," Scorchstar mewed to the she-kit, smiling warmly down at his daughter as she did so before continuing with the ceremony. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Hollykit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Hollypaw. Tansyheart will be your mentor. I know she will be able to pass down what she has learned to you."

The smallest smile found its way to Hollypaw's face as her father named her an apprentice. Now I can finally leave the camp... She thought to herself, paws twitching at the thought.
The black and white she-cat gave Scorchstar a subtle glance, hoping it would suffice as a thank you. Conversing with others wasn't her strong suit, but her father had been kind, and proven himself smart. Hollypaw liked that. Spinning on her heels to find her mentor, Hollypaw found herself face to face with a cat that somewhat resembled her. Black fur with a white muzzle, this could only be Tansyheart. "Hello." Hollypaw mewed coolly.
Her eyes bounced up and down the warrior, taking note of everything. This was the cat that was to train her. You'll do. She told herself, meeting Tansyheart's eyes with a nod.

Tansyheart made her way forward, meeting her newest apprentice near the Jaggedrock. She bent down, brushing noses with a long-furred she-cat who somewhat resembled herself. She couldn't help but wonder if Hollykit's apprenticeship would be anything like her own, or if pelt color was where their similarities ended. "Congratulations, Hollypaw," she mewed. "We'll start training in the morning. In the meantime, get plenty of rest and make sure you eat something tonight," she informed the young she-cat.
