The Raven Has Landed (OPEN [birth?] Topic)

Ravenkit laid next to her mother, ears alert.

Some cat was coming into the nursery! She hoped it was her father or older siblings. Apparently, according to her mother, they had seen her a few times before, but she was small and her eyes were still closed.

Now, her teal eyes were wide open, and her silver-colored ears were straight up, perked with interest.

She remained in her lying position, however, silver paws and tail tip tucked close to her skinny black body.

"Mind if I come in?" meowed a deep voice belonging to the newly born kit's father. Scorchfang purred as he pushed his way into the den, having to duck his head and body to fit his large, bushy figure inside. He smiled down at his youngest daughter and nuzzled her cheek with his black nose, purring deeply, overjoyed that now he had one more beautiful little kit to call his own. "I see you've opened your eyes. They look absolutely beautiful, my little Ravenkit."

"Scorchfang! Is she coming out?" a new voice, a young tom's, called from outside, though the cat speaking remained hidden from Ravenkit's sight. "Orchidpaw and I wanna meet our new little sister!"

"Calm down, bro, she's not goin' anywhere anytime soon," replied a new voice, a little deeper than the first, and much calmer and more collected than the first's excited, light-hearted tone.

"Hmm, I'd say you're old enough to venture out of the nursery, so long as you don't go too far," Scorchfang decided, offering Ravenkit a kind smile. "What do you say, Ravenkit? Would you like to meet two of your older brothers?"

Ravenkit looked up at her father. "You're bigger than I thought."

She smiled and straightened at his words, and stood up. "I'd like to meet my littermates." Ravenkit stood up and slowly walked toward the rather bright light, lithe frame slinking along.

Sparkkit stood a little bit off to the side, watching curiously. She almost never left Orchidpaw and Poppypaw's sides, except when they became apprentices and were out of camp a lot, but now didn't feel like a good time to step in. After all, this was their family; not hers. Not that she wanted more siblings. They shouldn't have to deal with Goldenstrike and Blackstripe, her (NPC) parents.

Ravenkit stepped outside for the first time, and was met with Scorchfur, two young toms, and a fellow she-kit. "It's big out here. Who are you three?"

(Bonus fact, and many people forget this, but at 6 moons kits are pretty much adult sized.)

Minnowcall got up and walked out of the den "Hi boys" she purred happly. She smiled at her two youngest sons and her mate as she sat down. "This Ravenkit is you'r father Scorchfang and that's Poppypaw and Orcidpaw you'r brothers" she told her, pointing at each one of them with her tail.

"Oh."

Ravenkit smiled and sat down, unsure of what to do next.
