| It had been an unusually long pregnancy for Willowwhisker, or maybe it was just her. She had been lying in the nursery for what felt like forever, and she was ready to be out on the duties of a warrior again. She was just going out to get some fresh kill, but the horrid spasms that she knew all to well had begun. She new the drill- grab a stick and wait for the medicine cat."I- The kits are coming!" She yelled, hoping that the medicine cat would hear it. | "Thank you, Be-Beet-LEPAW!" She felt the horrible ripple of pain lancing throughout her, and she knew that meant the first kit was coming. She did as Beetlepaw had instructed, even though she already knew what to do. She looked down, a ball of wet fur lying beside her.======TIME SKIP====== Willowwhisker lay in the nursery, exhausted but happy. She had three kits lying before her, each a spitting image of herself and Thistlefall. The first had a cream pelt like her own, mixed with white, just like hers."Fawnkit..." She looked at the next kit, a perfect mixture of herself... and Thistlefall once more. It had a cream pelt and faint silver tabby markings, which she knew would grow to be darker."Sweetkit." The third and final kit was more of a calico, but still a good mix of their colors."And last but not least... Nectarkit. Welcome to the world, my kits."Her voice began to crac, but she began to lick the young kits, trying to keep them warm."Beetlepaw, would you be so kind as to grab me some poppy seeds? Thank you..." Her voice began to fade, but she continued to lick the kits as they suckled warm milk. | Sweetkit, the first to be born, had mewled loudly until both her siblings had been placed next to her. After that she drank her fill before snuggling into her sister's side, letting her tail drape over her brother.
When her mother's tongue rasped over her head Sweetkit squeaked softly, snuggling against her two siblings before falling asleep. ______________________________________ |
