Her friend sounded a lot more like his old self now. The confidence in his voice made Tigerleaf more happy than she had thought it would. She would never dislike Ashpaw no matter what kind of cat he turned into, but in the end this was the Ashpaw she liked the best. Unwittingly, a big grin was tugging at the corners of her maw. As the gray and white tom set off on the trail of prey he had detected, the young striped she-cat turned aside to find her own prey. She had just caught the scent of thrush when she glanced back at Ashpaw. The sight sent a jolt rushing through her.

An owl was swooping towards her former denmate, its talons outstretched to grab unto him. Tigerleaf's jaws opened in a silent screech of warning, but her paws were already carrying her forward. Her bright yellow eyes widened as she saw the great bird's talons slash at the tom's back. Bunching her hind legs, she leaped over Ashpaw and tackled the owl. Just like she had with the eagle she and Pantherblaze had fought, her first choice of action was to pin the predator down.

Tigerleaf used Leap and Hold, dealing 8 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Ashpaw cried out in pain as the owl raked at his back, the wetness of blood soon coating his pelt. He whipped around to face his opponent, only to find that Tigerleaf had pinned it down. She could've gotten hurt! The thought of her injured filled him with a determination he thought he lost ages ago. Without wasting any time, he raced over and brought an unsheathed paw on the bird's now exposed underbelly.

Ashpaw used Belly Rake, dealing 7 damage and costing 10 stamina.

The owl screeched in anger as the cat pinned him down, rendering it immobile. It flapped its wings in an attempt to get away, but it was fruitless. It let out another screech as the smaller cat came over and clawed it.

Gritting her teeth, Tigerleaf dug her claws into the owl's wings with all her strength. Before long, she felt warm liquid well up from beneath her paws. Like a blossoming rose, blood spread out around the great bird's wounds. The striped warrior's pupils were slitted and her ears were pinned against her head as she snarled at the struggling owl. In return, she received a furious screech, causing her to flinch slightly.

Ashpaw continued raking his claws across the bird's exposed flesh, blood staining his paws a dark red. The scent filled his nostrils and had him scrunching up his muzzle in disgust. The white and gray tabby noticed that the bird was aggressively beating his wings, and almost free from Tigerleaf's grip. He turned towards her with a concerned look.
