Caring for the Elders (CLOSED)

"Awww! Well, why wouldn't I want to help out my favorite great-grandfather?" Fernwing chirped happily, beginning to nudge the gathered ball of dirty moss out of the den. She smiled down at Lilypaw. "Great job today, Lilypaw! You go ahead and wash off your paws in a stream or something, just make sure you don't lick them or you'll have the disgusting taste of bile on your tongue for days. Trust me, it's not fun! After that, feel free to grab a bite to eat from the fresh-kill pile, and then I'll take you out hunting later on!" Fernwing's eyes widened in alarm, and she whipped around to face the elder again. "Oh, no! I forgot to give you something, too! Oh, some great-granddaughter I am! What would you like? We have rabbit, mouse, another rabbit, pigeon, a squirrel, yet another rabbit... We have a lot of rabbits!"

Lilypaw laughed a bit when she heard her mentor ramble longer " I will be going now! Thanks for the story's Cedarfurr!", and then walked outside to wash her paws of and picked a rabbit from the fresh-kill pile.

Watching the warrior interact with her apprentice, Cedarfur purred and gave the apprentice a smile when she began to leave. "You're welcome. Thank you for your help, little one," the elder purred. Turning back to Fernwing, he was personally flattered by her manors. "Um, how about a mouse? I'm not particularly hungry at the moment," he mewed cheerfully, thankful for such a cat.

"Alright! I'll be back soon!" Nuzzling Cedarfur with another happy purr, Fernwing bounded off towards the fresh-kill pile to retrieve the elder's lunch. She definitely had a lot of fun spending time with both her great grandfather and apprentice, and she was so glad that the two of them got along so well. Then again, elders and apprentices did seem to get along very well, at least as far as she was concerned. She couldn't wait to spend more time with two of her favorite cats in the world again.
