April's Gathering 2018

Mintpaw grinned at the young Shadowclan apprentice, shooting Silentpaw an encouraging glance as she did so. The poor thing looked about ready to faint with fright. Thinking quickly, Mintpaw turned towards Goldenpaw. "Yes, i-it certainly is, isn't it? It's a-always exciting t-to see cats from other c-clans." The older apprentice's ears twitched. "Silentpaw, w-why don't you a-and Featherlight go s-sit down with the others? I-I'll join you two in a little w-while." She mewed, giving them a big grin before speaking to Goldenpaw again. "Y'know, I have a friend who used t-to be called Goldenpaw. S-she's the Riverclan M-Medicine Cat." She purred, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws. "B-but anyway, this is your first gathering. W-what do you like about it the most?"

Tansyheart padded into the Gathering after Littlestar, taking her seat among her Clanmates. Preoccupied in thought, she barely noticed the change in SkyClan's leadership, instead focusing on the flurry of activity around her.

After wandering around for a bit, Sweetpaw finally decided to settle down close to some of her clanmates and wait out the time for the gathering to start. Just as she went to sit, Lionstorm spoke as he padded up beside her. Jumping a bit, Sweetpaw looked over at the object of her affections with wide eyes before letting out a nervous giggle and sitting down. "Yeah I am actually, I love gatherings. How about you?" Giving Lionstorm a shy smile, Sweetpaw's tail lashed back and forth behind her, giving away how nervous being near her crush really was.

HONEYPAW

It took a moment before she realized that Elmcloud was distracted -- flicking her eyes to see him turned away from her. Figures. The tom seemed so... out of it. Like his mind were so clouded Honeypaw might not be able to reach him, even if she sank her claws down his face.

That is, until the apprentice realized what he was looking at.

The she-cat only had three legs.

Walking around her Skclan clanmate to better see the hobbled cat, Honeypaw's tail lashed. "Who are you?"

And more than that -- what happened to your leg? the young apprentice was thinking. Had she been cursed by Starclan?

Goldenpaw listened with rapt attention to Mintpaw. "Wow, I didn't know that other cats had my name," she said. "I'm not going to be a Medicine cat like your friend though. I'm going to be the best warrior in all the clans!", the small she-cat exclaimed boldly. Looking around at the rest of the cats gathered, she finished answering the older apprentice, "The best part of tonight is everyone here together, getting to talk to each other. I love all our friends!"

Acornpelt strode in behind Ashstar. At the last Gathering, she had been an apprentice, but she was a warrior now. Wondering if she could find Dawnpetal again, or if she could find a ThunderClan cat to talk to, she pushed past bunching cats to get to the area where most of ThunderClan was.

Dawnpetal watched as Ashstar led WindClan to the Gathering, and she smiled when she recognized a she-cat she had talked to last moon. She approached Acornpelt with a warm smile and dipped her head in greeting. "Hello, Acornpaw. Or have you earned your warrior name? Either way, it's nice to see you again. How has newleaf been treating you so far?"

Eyes clenched shut and head buried in his front paws, Ryecloud waited till the chatter around him died down, but didn't dare to move his head from his paws. He didn't care about anyone'ss apologies or what ever else they were saying, he just wanted them all to go away. Truthfully, all he really wanted was to leave the gathering, and for a few moments, he contemplated actually doing so. That was, until another voice was directed towards him, but this time, it was a she-cat's voice. Her mews were soft and calming, like his mother's; one that he'd almost forgotten.

Slowly lifting his head, he opened one of his squinted eyes to see an apprentice lay down next to him. Not really acknowledging, nor registering most of what she said, which is what he usually accidentally did, he caught the very last part of her words after drowning out the rest.

"Eyegloud," the crooked jawed tom mumbled, snapping his gaze away from Cherrypaw and back down towards his paws. Why did gathering have to be such social events?

Hearing the kind cat's voice made Acornpelt turn her head in excitement to see her old acquaintance. Giving Dawnpetal a kind smile, the she-cat eagerly replied, "Hello, Dawnpetal. You're correct - I'm a warrior now. I've been proclaimed Acornpelt." It had only been a few sunrises after Acornpelt did get her warrior name, and it still made her puff up her chest with pride, but she avoided that, not wanting to seem arrogant. "It's nice to see you, too. Thank you for asking! Newleaf has been great, but I hope it doesn't get too much hotter. If it does, hopefully, the moor winds will be enough to cool me down. How's your Newleaf been?" Despite her moons, Acornpelt was still as curious as ever, though she tried not to be too nosy.

With a sharp look, Ivystar finally entered into the clearing. Her tail held high with confidence and her green eyes alit with fire. Her gaze settled on Scorchfang, the ShadowClan deputy with distaste as she leapt onto the Great Rock.

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long." She commented to the other leaders as she settled by Littlestar.

The black and white tom did not hesitate as the Riverclan leader joined them. He offered up a half-hearted nod, due mostly to his current emotional state that was brought on by the immense grieving. It was hard not to let the loss of his mate and former mentor weigh him down. However, he managed to straighten himself up and stand tall. Only the dullness of his eyes betrayed how he felt inside. But, Rippedsky longed to get this over with. For the first time, he stood as the authority of Skyclan and let out a yowl loud enough to capture the attention of the entire crowd, "Let the gathering begin!" There was no fire behind the words at all, and there was a coarseness to the tone, yet it still rang loud enough to reach the ears of each cat. After a brief glance at the other leaders, he stepped to the front of the rock.

"Last night, our camp was attacked by dogs. Crowstar, and a warrior named Whiteheart the npc mate are dead." He paused for a moment to allow that to sink into all those watching below. Rippedsky would have glanced down to read their expressions, although the sinking feeling in his stomach only worsened and he couldn't bear to do so. Instead, he continued, "I plan on heading to highstones tonight after the gathering and hope that my journey will be peaceful. The clan was fairing well before the attack, and we are recovering well so far." Rippedsky was ready to step back and let the rest fad away as the other clan leaders gave their reports. He had been done before he started. Yet, something came to mind just as he was prepared to let another leader take the position at the front of the rock. With a glance to each one, in turn, a gesture that felt necessary but also took every ounce of strength buried within him, "I would like to talk to the leader of each clan in regards to the issues of the past moon. With your permission, I would like to discuss the matter before the next gathering. Thank you." With one stiff nod, he stepped away.

Darkpaw followed her leader into the gathering.

Ravenflight followed Ivystar into the Gathering, noting that all the other Clans were already situated. She took a seat among a few of her fellow warriors, listening attentively as the Gathering began.

Swanpaw followed her leader into the Gathering, and immediately set about searching for one cat in particular - the one who had walked away from her so rudely at the last Gathering. Not that much searching turned out to be needed, as she came across the cat in question rather quickly.

"How have you been, Thornpaw?" she asked politely, a dip of her head in greeting - unlike some cats she could name. "At last, it appears Newleaf has arrived." And with it passed leafbare, and the memories of unbearable, endless cold as she forced herself to walk down the side of an icy river, too cold to swim at all. She shivered involuntarily, and shook her head slightly to try and clear her mind. She was on a mission, she couldn't afford to be caught up in events that were firmly in the past. Thornpaw could be an incredibly beneficial ally, after all.

Duskpaw and Mistpaw walked into the gathering with bright expressions. It was their first time here! They sat down and began to chat excitedly.

Orchidpaw was sitting alone, waiting to speak with somebody. She was excited but a tad bit nervous to be there.

Blizzardpaw was waiting patiently for the gathering to begin eventually. He was pretty calm then and hoped he would keep his peace and quiet.

Jaystream rushed behind his leader and took his place between the rest of the deputies. He was hoping to talk with Rippedsky but when he saw in the leader's rock with a new deputy in his place, he knew that the spotted warrior wouldn't be joining him again. He nodded respectfully at all the deputies even if he knew that probably Leopardclaw and Brindlewhisker wouldn't return his greeting. Instead, he placed down next to Scorchfang, the young deputy of Shadowclan.

As the Gathering started, Jaystream lowered his head in respect after hearing about Crowstar's death. He had been Skyclan's leader since he was a kit so he hoped he would now rest in Starclan. Silently, he also prayed for Rippedsky so he could have a nice trip to the Moonstone and receive his nine lives.


Hailsong entered the clearing with an emotionless face but excited on the inside for her first Gathering as a warrior. The calico she-cat settled down next to Blizzardapaw, her first friend and looked at the leader's rock for a while.


Silverfang followed her clanmates and sat down with them. The scarred she-cat looked up at the leaders and waited in her spot with an impatient flick of her tail.
