Spring time patrol (open)

Sitting by the camp entrance, Smokepelt let out a sigh. Once again, it was Newleaf and the older tom found himself a bit happy at the thought, though these feelings were somewhat of a surprise to him, seeing that his personality never really recovered from the past... But once again, it was another season in WindClan. He'd lived through countless seasons on the moor, being one of the older cats of WindClan, and while they'd just recently lost a battle with their rival, RiverClan, he had high hopes for this time of year. New kits were to be born, prey would be abundant again, life wasn't all too bad.

Letting out a yawn, the dark grey and white warrior sat in silence as he waited for some-cat to join him. Seeing that he didn't have much to do this time of day, he decided that he'd better go on a border patrol, especially with the other clans lurking about. Besides, he wanted to catch some fresh food for his mate, Dandelionpetal, who was expecting kits any day now.

Willowpaw walked up to the warrior. "Can I come on your patrol?" He asked.

Rainpaw slowly and lightly padded over to Willowpaw and Smokepelt. "H-H-Hey, can I j-join y-y-your patrol?" he asked awkwardly.

Dawnlight appeared seemingly out of nowhere, already there for a hunting patrol. He was still rather sour about RiverClan's win against WindClan, and even more ashamed of his own defeat. Newleaf was edging its way into the territory, which was welcome. It would be a good time to hunt. He gave Smokepelt a curt nod, looking over at the apprentices who wanted in.

"I heard Willowpaw was going on patrol!" Foxpaw meowed loudly as she rushed over. "Can I come too?"

Before Smokepelt was able to reply to Willowpaw, several more cats arrived.

Standing up, the tall, lean warrior returned Dawnlight's nod and scanned his gaze over the small crowd. "You all can join. Let's get going," he mewed stoically. With that, he trotted out of the camp entrance and into the open moor. "We're going to patrol the RiverClan border first," he said, turning his head over his shoulder to the group.

Foxpaw ran out of the camp entrance. "This will be so much fun!" She meowed excitedly, half to herself, and half to the other apprentices on the patrol.

OOC: was gonna wait till the others posted, but oh well. ALSO can we pls make this an actual patrol and not hunt in it? Thx ><

IC: Padding through the tall grass, Smokepelt lead the apprentices and warrior towards their first destination, keeping quiet, per usual.

OOC: also sorry for the shortness ;;

Willowpaw followed Smokepelt. He vaguely remembered stories... Smokepelt had done something sometime, but he didn't remember what.

Foxpaw trotted happily after Willowpaw. It was her first patrol, so it was hard to keep herself from making excited squiking noises.

Reaching the gorge border, Smokepelt turned back to the rest of the patrol. "Mark the border and meet back here," the warrior mewed and headed off to scent the area. After a few moments of marking the area a little ways from the meeting spot, he headed back and stood where he'd left the rest of them, waiting for them to join him once more.
