Minkkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leopardclaw leaped onto the Highrock and called out: "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Minkkit stepped out of the nursery. She looked back at her mom who was following behind her and encouraging her to go forward. Minkkit didn't know what was going to happen, but she knew she had never been allowed to clan meetings before. What was different now?

Tatteredleaf finally got Minkkit to the right spot before sitting down. She looked down at Minkkit with pride, and this day was only going to get better for her kit.

Tigerspark settled next to his mate. His first daughter was being made an apprentice, he supposed.

Leopardclaw watched with a faint smile as the family stepped into the clearing, before calling out; "Minkkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed.  From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Minkpaw.  Your mentor will be Leafstorm.  I trust that he will pass down all that he has learned on to you."

Minkkit.. No Minkpaw could feel happiness course through her all the way to her tail. She was an apprentice! She was hoping for someone else as a mentor because Leafstorm looks at her weird sometimes, but she couldn't complain. He was a good warrior from what her mom said. She couldn't wait to start training.

Leafstorm stepped forward, looking, as usual, rather stunned. No matter how often he looked at Minkkit- Minkpaw now, he supposed- his fur rose slightly. At first it had been comforting, but now the resemblance was uncanny. The tall warrior shook off the nervous feeling and grinned, bending down to meet Minkpaw's nose with his own. "Training starts early tomorrow." He stepped back, catching Minkpaw's eye with a jokingly stern expression. "Don't be late."
