A chilly first outing for an Alder:

Swiftstep walked into the nursery with an excited smile. Today, he would be taking his new adopted daughter out of the nursery and into the large camp. She was the newest addition to his small family. That included his eldest daughter, Poppypaw, his youngest daughter, Alderkit, his mother, Spiderfur, and himself.

The warrior finally reached the nursery and stepped inside. His dark amber eyes glistened with excitement as he walked over to the small bundle that was Alderkit. He prodded her with a gentle paw before speaking softly, "Alderkit, wake up darling! Time to go out and explore the camp!"

The silvery blue gray bundle of fur lifted her fluffy head quietly her bright blue green eyes looking to her adopted father.  "already?"She asked stretching her tiny limbs with a small smile. She got to her paws waving her tail eagerly."let's go explore the camp"she squeaked.

IC: The tom's smile brightened at the little she-kit's enthusiasm. He nodded at her and pushed her gently until she was outside. "What'ya think darling? It's big ain't it?" he asked Alderkit with a goofy grin. The warrior wiggled his ears making him look funny.

Alderkit seemed to blink and at the first push she had jumped making her way out of the nursery in a couple small bounds. Though she had stopped dead in her tracks once outside the nursery her green blue eyes blinking and widening in awe"yeah it so huuuge "Alderkit said before she looked at her father and she laughed seeing the funny face he was making.

Swiftstep chuckled at her reaction. The warrior beckoned the she-kit closer. "What do you want to check out first?" he asked while pointing at different places in the camp. There was the apprentice's den, leader's den, warrior's den, medicine cat den, fresh kill pile, and ect. He looked back at Alderkit, awaiting her response.

Alderkit looked around curiously for a moment before she pointed out a den."that one "She mewed eagerly which happened to be what looked like the leader den.

Swiftstep nodded and led the way to the den. Windclan usually slept out in the open except the elders and the kits and queens but since the ground above was covered in snow, they retreated into the abandoned dens of rabbits. The leader had the biggest den. The brown warrior stopped in front of the den entrance. "We'll have to stop here Alderkit. Take a look at this den. The leader usually takes the best den but in Windclan, we all sleep outside and only use these burrows when it's snowing or raining. When you're an apprentice, you may have to sleep out but if there's still snow, you'll sleep in that den with your den-mates." Swiftstep explained. He pointed to the "apprentice's den" with a paw and then began to address his daughter. "Do you want to check out where you'll sleep when you're an apprentice?" he asked.

Alderkit gave a bright smile and followed him to the leaders den. She tried to look inside but stopped blinked and nodded"ok"She mewed and turned quietly "Yeah I wanna see"she squeaked.

Swiftstep grinned at Alderkit and gently pushed her along. Once they arrived, the warrior began to speak, "Here's the den you'll be sleeping in. You'll have to wait a few moons though! Why don't you go inside? Go have a look at the nests."

Alderkit let her father push her along quietly her ear flicked quietly before she looked to the apprentice den where she blinked and padded inside when he told her she could. Her blue green gaze looked around curiously as she looked to the empty den before she scampered back out and up to her father smiling.

He chuckled as she came back out with a smile. "Did you know, Alderkit, that when I was your age, I left the camp with a good friend of mine. We were mischievous kits. A pawful to handle. We had gotten lost but soon found our way back to camp after following the border." he gave a gentle sigh while he relived the past of him and Emberpaw. He loved her but soon he never saw her again. The tom shook those thoughts out of his mind and looked back down at his daughter. "Would you like to see where I sleep?" he asked her gently.
