The newt and the Rose{open but mostly for Harlem}

Rosepaw thought it over and decided. "umm truth." she said.

Newtface's speckled ears perked up after Rosepaw gave her answer. The tom paused for a bit as if he was thinking about a question to ask, even though he already knew what he was going to say. His tail briefly swept across the ground in one swift motion.
"So," He began, still holding his cocky smirk. "Have you have your eye on any toms lately? Don't worry, by the way, I'll keep your secret."

She smiled at him. "hmm only one." she said giggling.

Newtface stared at her, and his smirk turned back into a dull and bored expression. He wished that Rosepaw would just tell him and stop being so... evasive. He rolled his eyes. She-cats could be so incredibly weird sometimes, he just didn't understand. Newtface hated being clueless and not understanding. However, his curiosity got the best of him, plus he wanted to understand.
"Who?" He asked, heading back to sounding careless and tired.

Rosepaw was scared for the first time. She didn't know if she should tell him it was him or just say something else. She decided that embarrassment was the worst so she decided to dodge. "its someone you know and are close too." she said making it sound like a puzzle. Technically she wasn't lying cause he knew about himself and was really close with himself. She smiled at him hoping he didn't guess it.

Newtface blinked, realizing that Rosepaw was purposefully making this complicated. He still didn't understand why. If he was asked this question, he would've just said why. Or, at least, that's what he told himself he'd do...
Well, he knew a lot of cats in ShadowClan, but he wasn't close to all of them. He was close to Rosepaw, but he had no clue who else he was supposed to say.
"Wait," The tom began, sounding confused, "You like yourself...?"

That made Rosepaw fall over laughing. She tried to talk but she was laughing to hard. When she regained her self she got up and smiled. "it wasn't me it was you." she said still smiling. She couldn't believe that he thought she liked her self. She wasn't that kind of cat who always bragged at how good they looked or acted.

Newtface didn't react once Rosepaw began to laugh hysterically, and he just stared at the she-cat in utter confusion and even a small bit of fear as she had a laugh attack. He didn't understand why what he had said was so funny. He had taken her clues and guessed as accurately as he could, so what was so hilarious about it?
"What are you laughi-?" The tom paused once Rosepaw began to speak.
The familiar hot and feverish feeling began to rise inside of him again. It seemed to clog his throat this time, so he opened his mouth awkwardly before closing it again. For the first time in his life, Newtface was rendered speechless. Rosepaw was smiling at him, but he was still shocked as to how she was acting so nonchalant about it. Usually, the tom would be able to conjure up some quick remark, but now he just continued to look at the apprentice, unblinking. Then, one tiny sound escaped from his jaws.
"I... wha-?"

Rosepaw noticed she made him speechless. "ugh oh did I do something." wrong she asked worriedly. She knew he wouldn't take her news well but she didn't know he would act like this. She stared at him in confusion and then she got it. "oops I guess it just came out and didn't know what I was saying." she said then her faced turned red even though it was mostly black and white.

"N-no, you didn't do anything wrong." Newtface managed to say, quietly, but his expression was still bewildered and he had a shocked glint in his yellow eyes.
"I-I'm glad you told me," The tom admitted. "At least now you don't have to keep it a secret anymore..."
Newtface didn't know how to respond, he didn't know if he should say that he liked her back or if he didn't. He had no idea what to do in a romantic situation whether it was big or small. He had no idea how he felt... so he couldn't help but frown. The last thing he wanted to do was disappointed Rosepaw, but he'd end up disappointing her with anything that he said. He had been too focused on making sure that he was a good warrior and a good Clanmate, and he hadn't even thought about the side of mates and kits.

She smiled at him weakly. Maybe confessing helped him more. She decided to get back to game. "well lets get back to game truth or dare." she said nervously.

Unfortunately for him, Newtface could automatically tell that the rest of the game was going to be forced and awkward, and he didn't feel like sitting through the rest of the game feeling completely uncomfortable. However, he sucked in a weak breath continued on for Rosepaw's sake.
"Okay... uh, it's your turn."

She looked at him with a confused look. "its not my turn you asked me truth or dare I said truth then you asked who I liked and I answered so I ask you truth or dare." she said still confused on why he thought it was still her turn.

Newtface didn't even bother to correct himself or apologize for being wrong. He lowered his gaze and stared at his paws which were what his head was gingerly resting on.
"Whatever, just-" He let out an exasperated exhale. "Just ask me the question."

She wondered why he was acting different. "ok truth or dare newtface." she said. She looked at him and noticed he started acting weird when she told the truth. He acted like a different cat and she wondered why.
