Another Reason To Live (CLOSED for Silverfang's family)

The warrior opened her eyes suddenly when she felt the kits move in her belly. Yawning, the she-cat looked at the five kits with a loving look. They were perfect... strong and healthy just like her and their father. "Good morning. It's time to wake up and move your paws out of this place. Today I'm going to show the world outside this boring nursery." She mewed, nuzzling their heads with her muzzle gently bur strong enough so the kittens would wake up. She remembered how eager she was in the past asking her mother to go out to play with the other kits... and now she was a mother just like Thistleblaze. Silverfang wondered if she was seeing her from Starclan and if she was proud of her after all.

Frostkit let out a contented purr at her mother's touch and blinked the sleep out of her warm yellowish green eyes. She was going to explore the camp? Little soft limbs stretched in anticipation of the exciting journey. A fluffy tail wiggled back and forth in excitement. The silver-and-grey she-kit looked around the cramped nursery at her four brothers. Her mother had had quite the sizable litter and by StarClan's grace they'd all survived so far. "Wake up! Wake up!" she mewled noisily at her littermates, impatient to begin their adventure.

Raccoonkit woke up at sound of his sister. "Yeah Yeah, I'm awake." Raccoonkit hissed. Raccoonkit got up and stretched.

Spotkit jumped up. "Yes, yes, yes! I want to see Riverclan camp!" He shook Brightkit and Reedkit.

Brightkit woke up, stretching his mouth open wide in a yawn. He opened his eyes slowly, one a shocking, icy blue, the other a warm, fiery amber. The grey tabby flicked his tail. "You woke me up.....exploring? Really?" His tone changed from anger and grumpiness to pure excitement as he swiftly climbed to his paws.

The dark tom rolled to his paws as one of his siblings gave him a shove to wake up. He shook out his tiny body. Reedkit listened the other go on about exploring, and of course he wanted to join. "Let's go! I am ready to get out of here!" He bounced around on his paws readying himself for this adventure.

Spotkit jumped and bounded towards the enterance. "Come on, mommy! Let's go, let's go!"

Silverfang smiled glad to see the excitement in her kits. Standing up, the she-cat licked her only daughter's head before walking to the exit of that awful and wet nursery. Outside, Riverclan camp was covered by a thin cape of snow but the she-cat knew that her kits were already strong enough to manage the cold easily... and snow was always funny for younger cats. "This is Riverclan camp. There, you can see the Willow Branch where Ivystar gave her announcements. One day, you'll be called by her or the deputy to become apprentices so when that happens don't be late, okay?" She mewed with a little warning tone but lovingly enough so the young cats wouldn't be so scared. After all, they had to enjoy this day out.

Then, his eyes turned to the apprentice and warrior's den. "That den is the where the apprentices sleep during their training. When they earn their warrior name, they move on to the warrior's den. There is where I usually live among the other warriors."

"Cool! Can we play now?" Raccoonkit asked. He really just wanted to play.

Frostkit listened attentively to her mother's description of the camp, looking around the snow covered clearing with amazement. She pictured their wise leader standing atop the Willow Branch and calling for her, inviting her to receive her new name, as her Clanmates looked on with pride. She imagined what it would be like to sleep outside their mother's warm nursery den, dozing with the rest of the Clan who were training to become warriors. She thought to herself, someday, I'll be an apprentice too and make everyone proud.

The she-kit glanced at Raccoonkit as he interrupted the tour. Frostkit lashed her tail from side to side mischievously and crouched. She sized up her brother for a few heartbeats before pouncing on his flank and rolling him to the ground, play biting at the scruff of his neck in between mewls of laughter, delighted with herself that she had caught him off guard.

Brightkit nodded. When his paws touched the soft, powdery, cold substance, his oddly coloured eyes widened in amazement. He swung his paw up, throwing the snow up into the sky, in a soft arc. It landed back on him, and Brightkit shook his pelt to throw it off. He looked over to where the willow tree was, and in his mind's eye, saw Ivystar on a branch. He looked in at the apprentice and warrior dens, full of interest. He heard a scuffle and a new of delight, and turned to see his sister on Racconkit. He let out a loud, echoing laugh. Brightkit grinned as he watched his siblings, amber and blue eyes shining in amusement.

Spotkit looked around at the snow. I'm going to be leader one day, he thought. And even the snow will bend to my will!

Trotting along, Reedkit followed his mother and siblings. His dark, almost black, pelt stuck out from the snow like a sore paw. The tom's eyes followed to the places his mother spoke of. His stomach turned with excitement. He could not wait for the day that he would move to the apprentice den, and even the warrior den.

Reedkit watched as his Frostkit crouched and threw herself through the air onto Raccoonkit. He laughed along with the rest of his siblings as the playing commenced.

As Frostkit attacked Raccconkit, Raccoonkit started play fighting with his sister. "I'm going to defeat you!" Raccoonkit yelled.

Spotkit flicked his tail back and forth as he silently sat in the snow. He took in his surroundings- he would have to be able to navigate them blinded if he was going to be a good warrior.
