Don't Be Stupid (Closed for Titanium)

It was weird having a job to do. As a warrior, Shrewheart enjoyed the freedom to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. He liked that life was good. And having this duty didn't change how good life was. It was kind of an extra something. Hopefully it would be fun. If it wasn't, he would find a way to make it so. Getting out of the nest he shared with Sharptooth, he padded out of the warrior's den, hardly nothing the frosty air due to his fluffy pelt. He quickly picked up two mice by their tails, gobbling one down in a few bites and saving the other one for Robinpaw. Hopefully she liked mice, but if she didn't, he wasn't in the mood to get her something. After quickly finishing his meal, he took the mouse to the apprentice den and poked his head inside.
"Hey Robinpaw. Eat this then we are going to battle train," the dark brown warrior informed rather loudly. She had told him that she wouldn't be stupid, and he trusted she was telling the truth. Battle training would be perfect for her, not shying away from the thought of blood. He patiently waited for his apprentice to show her face outside. If she didn't in a few more moments, he would have yo throw her breakfast at her.

Robinpaw opened her vivid green eyes, lifting her head at the sound of her mentor. "I'm coming!" she called, getting to her paws with a yawn. She blinked the sleep from her eyes and padded outside to where Shrewheart was waiting. She gave her chest fur a couple of slightly nervous licks. She was more excited than nervous, really, but this warrior intimidated her slightly. She ate her breakfast, leaving a small pile of the furs, bones and inedible parts. She then returned her steady gaze to Shrewheart.

"Okay, I'm going to teach you how to fight today. Follow me to the training hollow," Shrewheart instructed as soon as she was ready. She seemed okay. Maybe a little nervous, which which was exactly what he didn't want, but easily shapable into a strong and intelligent warrior. As they trotted out of camp, he thought he would orally teach her a few things along the way. Just general stuff about life as a clan cat and all of that sort of stuff. "First off, battle isn't 'scary' or whatever cats think it is. It is a part of life that can become fun if you let it be. Don't have irrational thoughts, like disappointing me, being attacked by a predator, or anything else you 'fear'. Life is fun, and thinking like that just makes it harder. So today, I'll teach you more than just how to fight, I'll teach you how to have fun. Got it?"
After making sure his message was heard, he kept walking, and soon they were in the training hollow.

Robinpaw nodded and followed Shrewheart, listening closely to his words. She wasn't scared of any of that stuff! "I'm not scared!" she assured him, a little defiantly as she followed in his pawsteps. She kept alert, her bright green gaze focusing on the forest around her, frequently darting back to her mentor. She felt safe when Shrewheart was around, and knew no harm would come to her. She stopped as he did, once they arrived in the training hollow.

OOC: Do you know the battle system?

"Okay, good. You looked smart enough," Shrewheart replied at her comment. In his opinion, intelligence was measured in how many irrational thoughts a cat had, not how much a cat thought things through. Directed his amber gaze straight into her eyes, he took the time to inspect Robinpaw. She seemed strong enough, that could always be improved, and her posture suggested confidence, for which he was glad. A confident apprentice would be a heck of a lot less frustrating to train. Battle training would be able to start right away. For a moment he wondered if they should use claws. That would be better and more effective training. The image of Blazingwing's broken jaw flashed through his mind quickly. He would see what she did, and then go from there. It was just plain unfair to use claws when your opponent wasn't. "Fight me. You get the first move."

OOC: Yeh, I know what it is and how to use it but I never have had to use it before. I'll try my best


IC: Robinpaw nodded, and while he inspected her, she took the chance to get a good look at him. He seemed very brave, and Robinpaw was sure he would be an amazing mentor. She was a little taken aback when he told her to attack him, but she did what she had seen a couple other apprentices do. She sliced at Shrewheart's muzzle wit unsheathed claws, trying her hardest to make it a good move, before awaiting his next remark.

OOC: You did it right. Most people have HP and SP in different lines (like 20/20 and 70/80), but that is really just style thing.

IC: Shrewheart grinned as Robinpaw attacked his muzzle, not going anything to defend himself. Her attack didn't do much, and he actually felt pleased at the sting of her claws on his face. The adrenaline of the fight started rushing through his veins and his tail flicked. He liked her already. She didn't hold back, even against him. That took spirit that he was definitely glad she had. As soon as she stopped, he looked her straight in the eye and spoke before attacking in return. "That was good. But how would you defend yourself against it?"
Before she had the chance to reply, let alone defend herself, his unsheathed claws were flying at her, scraping at her chest and muzzle. Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew it wouldn't be fair to go all out on a newly made apprentice, but the adrenaline coursed through him, not allowing his muscles to do anything except for their best. In a weird way, he found peace in fighting.

Robinpaw didn't even have time to consider Shrewheart's question before she was attacked. She knew he didn't mean to go all-out on his own apprentice, but she had to surprise a yelp of pain. Robinpaw felt some kind of...was it excitement? Before she knew what she was doing, Robinpaw had slid underneath him, her hind legs clawing at the exposed underbelly, before leaping out the other side.

Robinpaw used Belly Rake, causing 7 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Shrewheart was rather surprised when Robinpaw's immediate response was to attack his more sensitive stomach skin. She obviously was a born fighter, and he trusted that she would go far. He subconsciously hissed in pain at the attack, taking a few moments to recover his breath before turning back to face his opp- uh, apprentice. He knew he could take her down in just one or two more strikes. But where was the fun in that? And, less importantly, he had to see how good of a fighter she was. So instead of unbalancing her before attacking, he simply attacked. Rearing up on his hind legs, he brought his unsheathed claws down upon her head and shoulders, to caught up in the fight to be gentle. Even though it was a clan mate, it felt good to have fur between his claws.

Robinpaw screwed her eyes shut and snarled. Pain overtook her now, and there was a small amount if blood matted into her thin fur. Robinpaw decided hat Shrewheart was testing her. Well, she wouldn't go down that easily! Angered by the fight, she backed away slightly, before running at him, full speed ahead, and charging into him, sending Shrewheart flying to the ground. She bared her teeth in a snarl.

Shrewheart smirked as Robinpaw backed away, and did nothing to stop her as she ran at him. However, the sudden, heavy blow from his apprentice caught him off guard, sending him sprawling on the ground. Great StarClan, she was strong too! Now more than ever, he was sure that she was going to be the best apprentice the forest had ever seen. Except for maybe himself. Getting to his paws, he was not at all intimidated by the snarl, growling slightly in return. Feigning a fall to the left, he dashed around her right side, trapping her tail in his jaws a pulling firmly, enough to unbalance her so that he could pin her down, but not enough for her to be knocked unconscious. He then pinned her down with his paws, smirking. "I win."

OOC: Basically he just pinned her down and she isn't able to attack anymore.

Robinpaw smirked as he was caught off guard, but when she was pulled to the ground, she was too tired to fight back. "Okay! Okay, you win!" she surrendered, panting hard. There was blood on her fur, and her mentor's fur inbetween her class, but she felt she had done okay. She looked up at Shrewheart, defeated.

"You did good, better than I expected. You're definitely a strong one, that's for sure. And a natural fighter. One of the best apprentices I could have asked for," he said grinning, stepping away to let Robinpaw get to her paws. She had put up a better fight than he had expected, and he could tell that would do her good. And he had known from the start that he would beat her, so it didn't come at all as a disappointment that she couldn't beat him. Giving her a proud look, he realized that his job was to teach her, not see what she already knew. "Anyways, I'm going to teach you some specific moves now."

Robinpaw nodded and slowly got to her paws. She still felt as though she could have done better, but she had to remind herself that she was only an apprentice. Shrewheart seemed rather pleased with her work, anyway. Robinpaw managed a small smile once she was back on her paws. She was still very tired, but she pushed all that aside. She would grow to be an amazing warrior, Robinpaw would make sure of it. She turned her gaze back to Shrewheart, listening to his next words carefully.

"So first, you dive into the bushes like this, see?" As he spoke, Shrewheart lunged into a bush, its thick branches hiding his fluffy brown pelt. He wondered for a second why Robinpaw hadn't replied, then stopped thinking about it, like he did with most things. From inside the bush, he continued. "Then you silently creep forward." Without making a sound, he ducked into the next bush. Bunching up his muscles, he was ready to spring. "Then, when it is least expected, you zoom out and attack!" With a growl, he lunged out of the bushes, clawing at an imaginary opponent. After finishing, he looked to his apprentice.
"Now you do it."
