Honeykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Jaystream jumped to the Willow branch like he had been doing during the last apprentice ceremonies. Starclan had blessed them with a lot of apprentices during this Leafbare and he was glad to see that his clan was growing under Ivystar's leadership... However, that also meant he had to confront his fears more often and that was exhausting for the shy tom. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" He mewed, this time, without a shakily. At least that was an improvement but he still felt his paws trembling. Maybe one day he would overcome his shyness and social anxiety.

As anxious as Jaystream was, there was perhaps one cat in the camp more nervous than him. Honeykit shuffled her paws with her pent up anxiety as she waited for the rest of the clan to gather. This was it; just a few more moments and she would be a kit no longer. She had been dreaming of this moment for moons now, but now that it was here, all her doubts were suddenly beginning to plague her. What if she wasn't ready? The thought of disappointing her clan terrified her. Ever since she was a tiny kit, she only ever wanted to please those around her, trying to be the best and kindest cat she could be. She only hoped she could live up to her own expectations as an apprentice.

"Honeykit..., you have finally reached the age of six moons and therefore you are ready to undertake the responsibilities of an apprentice. From now on, you will be known to the clan as Honeypaw and I'll be your mentor." He had thought his decision for a while about taking another apprentice since Vixenpaw was getting her warrior ceremony soon just like Duskpaw, his other apprentice. Almost all the other warriors were still training their apprentices and he didn't want to burden them with more responsibilities when he could do it.

Jaystream jumped off the Willow Branch with a smile and touched his nose with hers, trying to give her confidence. "Congratulations, Honeypaw. Your training will start tomorrow in the morning so I hope you're ready." He purred before walking away so the clan could join the celebration of the young she-cat.
