Ragged leaves (Med cat needed, open)

Specklefang came barrelling into Thunderclan camp, blood thick on Specklefangs paws and muzzle as she charged into the medicine cat den. "Honeyspark! Shadowleaf is injured! A two-leg trap caught her foot, there was also a badger in the area but we chased it off." Specklefang meowed, stumbling on her way in as she looked at the collection of herbs. If it was broken she knew just what needed to go on it, Sageleafs treatment of her tail on her mind. Grabbing some golden yellow stuff... marigold she was pretty sure it was called, and some cobwebs as well of course. Dropping it by Honeyspark before diving back for some prickly stuff, bindweed she was pretty sure.

Specklefang spun unsteadily as she turned to look out of the medicine cat den, waiting for Shadowleaf and Raggedpaw to come.

Leafstorm jumped up from where he was lounging in a patch of sunlight and rushed to the medicine cat den. "Specklefang! Specklefang, what's wrong? Are you hurt?" His eyes widened as he spoke and he ran around her, expecting the worst. "Why... why are you covered with blood?" He meowed anxiously.

Honeyspark had been busy painfully trying to restock the herbs which were painfully low even after the fires and still was low she felt the leafbare was going to be filled with sadness. Her head shot up when Specklefang barreled into her den grabbed her herbs from her stick which made Honeyspark bristle slightly before she pushed it down. Grabbing the herbs she made her way silently outside her den.

Raggedpaw was running on reserves when he made it to the camp. His shoulders ached, but so did his heart in determination. The former rogue was pulling on every muscel he head to propel him to the medicine den. He had to. He had to get her there. He could feel all her blood soak him to the skin. He was almost there. So close. The tom finally made it through, and gently slipped Shadowleaf off his back. His green eyes looked up at the medicine cat, silently begging her to do something. He just couldn't get his mouth to speak words.

Shadowleaf watched with shallow breath as the forest passed her by while laying on Raggedpaw's back. The gray and white warrior was stained red from her own blood, her wounds and bite marks from the badger, her back foot that got stuck in the trap hanging loosely.

The warrior swore she stayed awake for as long as she could but moments of the forest seemed to pass her by without her knowledge, and when she finally realized she was in camp she was relieved. Though she couldn't even utter a single word or move at all. Her good eye looked up at the others, but she couldn't tell who was there at all. She just waited, the only thing she could do.

Specklefang was turned on Leafstorm in an instant, rage flaring in her stomach. How dare he ask her if she was okay when Shadowleaf was bleeding out! How dare he mother her, not a worry for his clan-mate clearly dying! "Get out Leafstorm! Move it, don't need another useless lump in here." Specklefang snapped, turning around sharply once more, her head reeling as she made her way over to Honeyspark. "Tell me what to do, please. Shad-Shadowleaf is my friend, you have to let me help." Specklefang sputtered, pushing her collected herb... mess towards Honeyspark.

Leafstorm's eyes widened, and the fluffy tom seemed to shrink under Specklefang's harsh tone. The fluffy tom turned and seemed to grow even smaller at the sight of Shadowleaf- a bloody, mangled mess -and immediately turned his attention to her foot. "Twolegs..." He half-whispered. He turned his back on Specklefang padded over to Shadowleaf as calmly as possible, and began to inspect her wounds, especially her foot. "Shadowleaf? Shadowleaf, you're going to be okay, I promise." He meowed, his voice holding steady despite the sickening amount of blood.
She was going to get better. He would lead her around camp himself and hunt all her food personally if it would do any good but so help him, Shadowleaf would recover fully. He wasn't certain why he cared so much, but Specklefang's stinging remarks and his own time spent in the Medicine Cat den, recovering from similar wounds, were certainly part of it.
The fluffy tom seemed to almost grow bigger once more, and he shot Specklefang a glare. "Why don't you catch Shadowleaf a nice squirrel, dear? She'll need one when she wakes up, and you're the best hunter. Plus, we don't need another useless lump, now do we?" He mewed, before settling beside Shadowleaf and looking to Honeyspark for instructions. "I'm here to help, Honeyspark."

Shadowleaf could hear their voices, all off them different but slowly blending together as the warrior was starting to lose hold on the waking world. She had gotten to camp, and could feel Honeyspark putting cobwebs after cobwebs on her, but she didn't think she could stay awake anymore. Her half closed eye looked up at Leafstorm and Specklefang arguing before it finally closed so Shadowleaf could either embrace her death, or rest up. She didn't know which was to come but either way she wanted to rest.

It was well into the night. The medicine cat managed to stop the bleeding on the former tribe cat. It was just waiting on the she-cat to wake up again. If she would. She was still breathing, even steadier than when she came in the afternoon.

Everything was quiet in the Thunderclan camp except for the ones that were steadily watching her through out her time in the den. A sharp left the gray and white she-cat as she joined the waking world again. One of her eyes still closed from having cobwebs and other things over it. Her amber eyes scanned over everything.. She was still alive? She lifted her head, extreme pain and soreness following from the movement. How long had she been out?

Specklefang was in a doze as she sat with Shadowleaf through the night, the amount of worry making her feel sick, causing it to be almost impossible to sleep. Specklefangs eyes flickered open to look at Shadowleaf's sleeping form before shutting once more, her fur fluffing out against the wind. Specklefang sat a tail length away from her mate, Leafstorm she could barely stand the tom at the moment. Specklefang's brows knitted together as she sat there, running through scenarios which all had the grey and white she-cat passing away, her chest clenching as her eyes watered at the thoughts, what a vile thing to think of.

Shadowleaf moving had the younger she-cat spooking awake, her good eye blinking rapidly, trying to clear the sleep and her blurry vision. Specklefang was checking Shadowleaf in an instant, large paws pushing and pressing and everything she thought was right, anything that reassured Specklefang that the she-cat she had called a friend was still alive, unlike Sageleaf, the large she-cat greatly mourned the Thunderclan medicine cat, she considered her a friend as well. She remembered the sun gleaming and Sageleaf smiling beautifully, her heart feeling at peace as her wounds were tended to and checked, she missed her so bad... Here Shadowleaf was, looking so similar to her and hurting her without even knowing it, now she was a cripple and she had no idea how to deal with all of these emotions.

"You're alright, Shadowleaf. You're alright." The large she-cat smiled crookedly, laying next to her, just the slightest bit on top so her copious amounts of long fur covered her and kept her warm, a purr pulling itself from her throat as she was filled with relief, Shadowleaf would make it. For sure.

Leafstorm looked up from where he had been sitting, half-asleep. His face, which had been dark with worry only a few moments later, melted with relief. "Shadowleaf!" He mewed, his voice hoarse as he padded swiftly towards Shadowleaf. "Don't ever do that again. You really had me worried there."
The fluffy tom turned and grabbed a fat gray squirrel he had found only a few hours ago. Quickly, he sliced a straight line down its belly and gently nudged it towards Shadowleaf.
"Eat this when you can, alright? If you need, I can tear it into smaller bites like I do with my kits..."
Still giddy with relief, he threw caution to the winds and sat close on Shadowleaf's other side, wrapping his tail around his paws and shooting Raggedpaw a quick, excited grin.

Raggedpaw had spent most of the night by Shadowleaf's head. He only managed to doze off here and there from the worry. As he lay awake by the she-cat, Raggedpaw thought of his time spent in ThunderClan, and he realized that all of the good memories with Shadowleaf. The she-cat understood how hard it was to live in a group of cats with different ways than you. She taught him carefully all the rules they needed to follow here. She had done a lot for him, even fighting Specklefang to let him in. He was such a bad cat back then but... this cat? He glanced down at Shadowleaf. Made him better. A clan cat.

When Shadowleaf stirred he was annoyed with how Specklefang and Leafstorm reacted, especially Leafstorm, but he hid all of that. It didn't matter. After they bombarded Shadowleaf with their words, Raggedpaw lowered his head and gently licked the Shadowleaf's head in affection. He said nothing, just rhythmically stroked her head and purred softly. He wasn't much for words anyway.

Blizzardstar wasn’t ignorant to the group of cats sleeping in the medicine cat’s den, and even less to her dear friend’s critical state. However, she had been instructed to not go and accompany the rest of the cats in their vigil as her presence would only cause more harm than good. Having three cats was already problematic enough for Honeyspark, especially if one of them was Specklefang thanks to her size.

Being away from the group of worried cats didn’t made her night any more peaceful, though. She found herself waking up constantly with even the softest noise, and whenever she managed to fall asleep again the most she achieved was a light slumber. Taking this into consideration, it wasn’t exactly a surprise when the murmurs coming from the group of cats made her open her eyes and rise her head to make sure the voices weren’t just part of her light dreams.

As soon as she was sure of the contrary she got up and hurried out from her den and towards the spot where she knew Shadowleaf and the other three cats would be. Unlike Specklefang and Leafstorm se refrained from talking directly to the injured she-cat, not sure if she was in conditions to talk at all at this point, and since she couldn’t spot the medicine cat anywhere she decided to direct her questions to the warriors and apprentice “How is she?”

Slowly voices became independent instead of blurring together. Hearing something about being alright from Specklefang, a nice squirrel from Leafstorm, and then.. something she didn't quite expect from Raggedpaw but it made her happy all the same. The she-cat returned a lick on the tom's forehead before turning her attention to the leader. She was alive, and safe..

"Ver.. tired.." Her own voice was harsh in her throat but that was probably due to the lack of water she had. "But.. aliv.." It was hard to finish her own statements fully. Her words lacking here and there. "Will... recover..." Finally she managed to get out two full words without them being broken in someway. She was thankful for the warmth and the food that they provided to her. The stress of the situation from before seemed to have melted away but the stress of recovering was going to be a pain. A pain she wasn't ready to focus on just yet.

The gray and white warrior took a bite of the prey in front of her before setting her head down for a moment so she didn't overwork herself. "Glad.. you are.. here." Her own voice probably sounded harsh to all of them, but she wanted to express how happy she was for all of them and apologize for the stress she had put them through. "All.. of you.. Sorry for the stress.." She finally stated. Her attention turning back to the squirrel before taking another bite.

"Don't worry about that." Raggedpaw whispered, licking Shadowleaf again and looking up at Blizzardstar.

Blizzardstar lowered her ears and nuzzled Shadowleaf’s cheek gently in an almost motherly way. It broke her heart to see her so injured…so weak, however, listening to her voice gave her some relief “Rest, Shadowleaf…there is nothing to apologize about. Just focus on recovering, ok?” She took a couple steps away from the group and looked around the den until she found the wet moss. It was a bit cold, but it would do perfectly for now, at least it hadn’t dried up nor frozen. With a smile she placed the moss close to her injured clanmate alongside the squirrel so she could drink if she wished to “I’m glad to see that your will is as strong and powerful as always”.

She finally allowed herself to lay down and relax as much as she could at Shadowleaf’s side, Honeyspark was going to be mad by having yet another cat with her patient, she could already tell, but unless the medicine cat herself decided to kick her out she wasn’t going to leave her side for as long as it took her to make sure she was going to be fine.
