Ashkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashkit nervously joined the clan for the clan meeting. Today was the day he would finally get his mentor and join his brothers in the apprentice den.

Magpiestar looked down at the kit that approached him. "Ashkit, please s-step f-forward..."

The shy kit hesitantly did so, feeling the eyes of all his clanmates on him. He suddenly wished that he could make himself smaller so that maybe they wouldn't see him.

"You have reached the age of s-six moons, and a-are now ready to b-be apprenticed. From this day forth, until y-you receive your warrior name, you shall b-be known as Ashpaw. Y-Your mentor shall be Larksong. C-Congratulations."

Ashpaw nodded, saying his new name under his breath to get used to it. Even with his shyness, he was overcome with a feeling of excitement and joy. He was finally an apprentice!

Crowfur bounded foward and gave his son a lick. "I'm proud of you! You will surley be one of the best warriors this forest has ever seen. Be sure to do what Larksong says Ashpaw." he purred. He turned and walked off to the warrior's den.

The brown she-cat smiled gladly and proudly of her son. Standing up, she joined Crowfur and looked at the small tom with pride. "Congratulations! Make sure you work hard and follow Larksong's guidance during your training. I can't wait to see you in the warrior's den with us, Ashpaw."

Ashpaw gave his parents a small smile. "I'll train hard so I can be a good warrior for Shadowclan," he promised. He didn't really know Larksong that well but he knew they were a good warrior. He would gladly follow their instructions.
