| Ashpaw nodded, saying his new name under his breath to get used to it. Even with his shyness, he was overcome with a feeling of excitement and joy. He was finally an apprentice!

| Ashpaw gave his parents a small smile. "I'll train hard so I can be a good warrior for Shadowclan," he promised. He didn't really know Larksong that well but he knew they were a good warrior. He would gladly follow their instructions.
